The area around the iconic Astrotower on Coney Island was to remain closed until further notice, after the tower appeared to be swaying in the wind more than usual Tuesday.

Too bad they can't give it the Space Spiral treatment. That would be a fitting addition to the long list of publicity stunts that historically is Coney Island.
Sad day. I remember riding this as a child every summer. then playing on the beaches. Too bad they couldn't have done more to shore up the tower or retrofit part of it for a drop tower!
