Arrived around 11am at the Mountain. Got in line around 11:15. They were running two trains but only loading one for the first hour or more, when I got in the station they started loading both. Got in two rides by 3pm then had lunch for an hour. Returned at 4pm for five more rides before the 6pm queue closure.

If you have to wear OTSR these are the best so far and have nothing for me to complain about, though they may take a little more maintenance and I fear the rotation gear may also suffer if not kept in top shape. So much for the negative.

There is not a bad seat in the house, at least none of the ones I rode. First ride rear left (as the train travels out of the station, not the way the seats face), Stealth is a big yawn in comparison, but it is not fair to compare since X never really spends any time in a 'flying' postion. Except for the lift hill and face down first drop you are pretty much sitting upright(relative to the direction the train is headed) or are being flipped forward or backward during the ride. Did front both sides, rear and near rear left , near front ,near rear and middle right. Outside seats may be a little more exciting and intense but not enough to make me any less likely to jump for an open inside seat. After the sun went down X seemed to become possesed and even more intense. There are lots of positive Gs pulled on this puppy, especially in the Raven turns, not a great deal of airtime though are a couple of wicked pops during a flip or two.

The Mountain now as another great ride to stand up alongside Big-G in my book. Allan seemed proud of his baby today, and he deserves to be.

I agree with you 100% boblogone.  After sunset, X took on a different personality entirely.  As you said I believe on our fifth ride, a little too much caffeine!!!  And you're right, seven is a lucky number.  From what I've read so far, most people only rode a couple of times.

I wish I could have stayed later, but I had a christmas party to attend. I'll get in some night rides soon.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!

X at night must be an absolute monster! I can't wait to experience that.

DWeaver:  Yes indeed.  Our last ride was around 6:10 p.m. and so much different that the first one at 1:15 p.m.
Did the ride have any problems throughout the day?

When I went I had none...I rode that thing 10 times!

A history maker! Among the other people who were on the first train of X on 12-24-01!!
Can you help clarify this:

ON the first drop, are you in a belly flop position or on your head?

Backwards belly flop position.  BTW, only 7 rides?  I have 18 rides in two days :)

You face the ground with your head away from the track, parallel to the ground and then halfway down you flip on your head, and then face the ground again through most of the first raven turn.  Considering the problems on the first day, 7 rides was pretty decent.  You obviously don't work (must be a student) or have the time off to go when you wish.  Some of us older folk do work for a living and don't worry, my count will go up next week!!

Thank you, MMCoasterbear.

I wasn't too sure about that!

Can't wait for media day...
