I am bored in my second hour class so I decided to start a love thread for 2 fabulous parks in southern Missouri, of course you know I mean Silver Dollar City and Celebration city, 2 great parks. These are the only two parks I have beeen to thus far that can even come close to competing with Holiday Worlds cleanliness, friendliness and greatness. Silver Dollar City is one of the most beautiful parks in existance and its star attraction is in my opnion the best Beemer designed, with great airtime on the first drop hangtime on all of the inversions and not to mention an intense finale helix! And now Celebration city gets love for its great theming, insane cleaniliness great secondary rides (Fire Ball, Accelerator, Thunderbolt). But yet again its star attraction is one of my ten favorites. Thoguh I have not ridden Thunderhead yet, from what I hear it is like Ozark Wildcat on Steroids, and man is OW one wild ride, great airtime, leteral g's and it never loses any energy at all, I have even felt some CCI masterpieces lost enrgy but this wild cat doesn't lose any at all. We love you Branson Twins! *** Edited 4/29/2004 4:06:39 PM UTC by coasterkid16***
I've never been to Branson so I can't comment but how about them Olsen Twins, eh? Hot, hot, hot!
I love the Branson twins' song, "MMMBop." That was awesome. And Zac Branson is cute!!@!@!@!@111

You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
He mentioned OW and how Thunderhead is "OW on steroids". All I can say is just wait until you see what GCII has in store for SDC in the near future.

I have never been, but I should go in the near future...but not before. ;)

If what you're saying is true, than I'm postponing my trip to Branson.
I have never been to CC, but I went to SDC the first year Wildfire was there. yeah, it is great. I'm glad these parks are doing so well. Too bad SDC is putting in that terrible loud wet eyesore. ;) (NOTE SARCASM)
Down is the new up.
Neither SDC nor CC can hold a candle to Mutton Hollow. Man I miss that park, it rocked.
Friendly staffed, clean and efficiently run parks are over-rated. Besides SDC is really lacking flat rides and has a giant sink hole marring the entrance of the park.
Would the sink hole make a good spot for a terrain coaster? ;)
I actually liked Mutton Hollow, but I might have been in the minority. I really wish SDC would have used that name for CC, as I like it a lot more (no I'm being honest).
I think that an S&S tower shooting out of the sink hole would be fun. ;)
I love the Olsen.....er, Branson Twins. The only real *drawback* to Branson is the music.....which is (gasp!) actually BETTER in Tennessee.
SDC and CC were perfect together....complementary without being overly "cannibalistic". One (SDC) is a great THEME park with lots of *family-style* attractions...even the inverting coaster is a Beema, LOL. CC, on the other hand, provided THRILLS and a completely different atmosphere....the Dynamic Duo earned RAVE reviews from me! :)
Actually some of the old Mutton Hollow buildings are still around and used for various things by Celebration City.
As for the terrilbe loud wet eye sore coming I am waffling bigtime and now really looking forward to it. I tried to hold off from looking at the layout but I am a week person.
Anybody know if the story about Kenny Rogers wanting SDC to be rebranded to KennyWood like Dollywood was is true or not? Always wondered about that.
Wait...Mutton Hallow was real? I thought you were making a joke. Care to elaborate on what it was all about?
It was a small family owned park with a pony ride and....well a pony ride. I only have faint memories of it, but I dont think it was that spectacular. I personally liked Branson USA more than CC. I'm serious. NOT!!!
The Ozark Wildcat, voted #26 wood coaster, the higest rated new wooden coaster since 2001.
ROYALS!!!
Should it have been a sheep ride if it was called Mutton Hallow?
Ahhh SDC. My PARK! MINE! GRRR! I love this park more than any other. I feel like I'm at home when I'm there. Okay well not quite home enough to walk around in only boxers, so I suppose I feel like I'm at home when we have guests % Yes thats it, like when we have guests! SDC can do NO wrong! I believe that! I can't wait for PowderKeg in 2005! But 2006-2008! Hun those WILL be our years! (tembling in excitment) And why do I get this odd feeling that Intamin may just be coming to Celebration City? hmmm I wonder. . . .
THE SCARIEST PART OF THE RIDE IS THE LIFT HILL!
Why do you feel Intamin is coming to CC?
Maybe he ate too much Chineese food?
