Lost Island delays opening of amusement park by a few weeks

Lost Island Waterpark opens for the summer Friday in Waterloo. However, Lost Island staff said it is pushing back the opening date for the new theme park due to construction delays. The park is now expected to open on June 18.

I was in Waterloo years ago for work and I stayed at the Isle Casino right next door to where this park is. The hotel was probably the tallest building for miles (I think it was maybe 10 stories?). Thought it was odd to have a water park in what seemed like the middle of absolutely nowhere, but then I thought it was just as odd that there was a fairly large scale hotel and casino.
I just looked it up and the current population is ~67k. That surprises me. My entire county has a smaller population than that.
Holiday World being where it is, I just assume that anywhere is close enough to enough people.
