Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain closer to finish

Posted | Contributed by Wabash Cannonball

New pictures offer a great overhead views of The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. Some were taken from the hills of Hoosier Hurricane, while others are new shots from within the mountain.

See the photos on Theme Park Adventure.

Every picture I see tells me LoCoSuMo will be the sleeper of 2002. I'll get to see it for myself this Saturday at IB's Coaster Chaos, but it still looks like there is a lot of work to do before Media Day on 5/17. Thanks to the Mr.ACER for some great pictures.

LoCoSuMo, huh? Isn't that a coaster in Japan? ;) There's some Loco Sumos in Weezer's Hash Pipe video.

I agree Mike. I think this will indeed be the biggest surprise of 2002, just like Cornball Express was in 2001.

In just two years, Indiana Beach has turned from a park that most people overlooked into one that is on a lot of 'must visit' lists. That's pretty impressive.

My sig hasn't changed since January. As the one who coined the term "LoCoSuMo" I knew it back then and it says it all.

You know, for a while I was wondering what the heck is this locosumo.....Until now. Yes, I am hella slow. We (enthusiasts) are the kings and queens of acronyms

What's love got to do with it?

Could someone explain how the elevator lift is going to work. Also the double down looks so tight like you might hit your hand, talk about a head chopper.
I'm going to be carefull with my hands throughout this ride.
Masterpiece is just about the only word that decribes this coaster. IB is really making a name for themselves in the world of coaster enthusiasts. I would have never predicted this after CCI and IB delivered the work of art know as Cornball. Wow.

Mamoosh, feel comfortable knowing that I have helped familiarize people with that term, and you will be asked for thousands of autographs at the events! Bring a sharpie! :) It's great when they reply with "Loco what?" A big thanks once again to TPA and Scott and Carol! That first turn off the 'vator is insane!

ArrowGuy - I've seen lots of people helping spread the word, including you. Its amazing how 'LoCoSuMo' has caught on. It just came to me one day and just saying it made me laugh. According to IB Dave, the people at the park think its great, too. Perhaps I should get a t-shirt that says "IB LoCoSuMo!" ??

Moosh, if you want, CafePress can fix you up quick. I've made myself a few shirts through there, and am pretty happy with the results. (You'll need to provide an image, of course)

Greg - What shirts did you do at CafePress? My friend and I did these.

Setting up the store, etc. is a blast.

Mamoosh - Let us know what you come up with if you make a shirt.

Chris - honestly with as busy as work has been and given that I have to move to a new apartment by May 15th I seriously doubt I'll have time to have a shirt made. We'll see, tho.

If this was a dark ride before where are all the dark ride scenes? Will there be any added to The Lost Coaster? *** This post was edited by Alex Nagel on 5/2/2002. ***
'moosh, if nothing else, an old tee and some markers (the permanent kind, of course) will do the trick! Sure it's temporary, but it's a cheap way to experiment with design, and also get the idea out at the same time. The marker thing worked for me when I needed a coaster shirt to paint in, but obviously didn't want to use a real one. :) I'm sure you'd get some buyers too.

Alex - I'm a little confused about this, too. I think I read somewhere that said no new theming (animatronics and such) will be put in this year, but possibley next year. I imagine that Sally Corp. might do it (as they re-did the other dark rides in the park). But whether or not they will be using the other dark ride scenes...dunno. I'm pretty sure they are keeping the original ending; the train collision, though.
