Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain

How is The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain at Indiana Beach? I haven't heard any comments about it, and would like to, as I may be going to Indiana Beach soon. Any replies would be appreciated!!

-Ben

At rcdb.com it says 35 feet high 20 mph. That sound slike it sucks. Why is it different then say Skull Mountain at SFgadv?

Maybe cause it's a woodie.....or maybe because the whole ride is actually themed....or maybe because it was built by CCI? Or because it has an elevator lift?

Get with the picture!

Why say a ride sucks just by looking at statistics, and its obvious you haven't even seen pictures of it yet. Ive seen it in person and it looks like an awesome ride, it hadn't open when I was there. But I have heard nothing but good reviews about it.

Judging coasters by stats isn't all that accurate...I remember way back before Cornball opened, most people called it a kiddy/family coaster that wasn't going to be all that good...but it sure changed people's minds once they got a ride on it.

I have only rode LoCoSuMo once (backwards, too) and all I can say is that it's not your average CCI. It's very different! It keeps you laughing through the whole ride though and you know it's a hit when that happens.

Lost Coaster is very good. I too have only rode backwards. It's really fun, and it keeps you guessing to where it is going to go. The trains are heavily padded (and you need it), and pretty comfortable. Some of those turns are so tight it almost seems like they are turning on a dime. Even the elevator lift gives you a weird feeling in the stomach. Definatly ride it if you get the chance.

-Who loves Indiana Beach because people there think 15 minutes is a long line...LoL

LoCoSuMo has been running more consistently and the Beach hopes to soon run 3 trains for busier days.

Some interesting facts that CCI shared with me: 40 degree drop off the top of the mountain (into a tight left turn); 40 degrees on the 1st drop of the double down; 2 turns (left then right) with radii of 5' 4"---tighter than a mouse coaster.

I rode it 2 days ago, very fun coaster. Never seen anything like it.

Coaster Counter: 80+...I need to sit down and figure it out :)

How much land does one of these things take up? It seems like the perfect addition to KBF or it could easily be installed in the calico mine.
I will be there in a few weeks to check out LoCoSuMo. From what people have told me it is just entirely too cool. Those hairpic curves just look awesome. CCI is so versitile.

That would be so awesome to do that to the Calico Mine Ride!!! Great Idea.

Actually there have been tons of rave reviews here on coasterbuzz. I haven't read one bad thing about it yet. Most around here refer to it as "LoCoSuMo", so perhaps a search for that will give you some info you're looking for.

Ugh. The "bigger is better" mentality rears it's ugly head again. If you're basing which rides may be potentially good solely on statistics, you're missing a ton of great rides and riding a bunch of less than stellar ones.

It takes up very little room, just take a look at some of the pictures. There are some very, very tight squeezes it manages to fit through.

Gonchar, I know exactly what you mean. Some people say the Phoenix is dumb because it isn't as tall, but you'll get more airtime on that beast than you deserve!!!

Yes I'm 15, no I'm not childish, I'm not being sarcastic, well maybe I do have somewhat of an ego...

Just 16 days until my coaster trip. First stop: Indiana Beach. I can'ty wait! I've never been there before.

OK. Sorry. It's just just because it was built by CCI doesn't mean its a good coaster. But it sounds pretty cool now.

It's not done being themed yet though is it? I bet it would be even better once the theming is done.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

Theming will be done in the off season with Superstition Mountain's orginal elements and the possiblility of some special effects.

I couldn't agree more. This is the second half of the annoying "bigger is better" mentality. Some people tend to think because a ride was made by a certain company that it's automatically going to be good. I've ridden rides by almost every major manufacturer that were both a lot of fun & a great ride and ones that if I never rode again I wouldn't feel like I was missing out.

Don't go in with predetermined notions based on size, manufacturer or even other opinions and usually you'll have a much better time.
