Lord Ghostwood and a few other rides 8/1/08

Associated parks:
None

Arrived at Kennywood about 3:30pm. Straight to Ghostwood Estates. Abouta 30 minute wait, and it was quite warm. Anyway, the ride isoutstanding. Its hard to believe that Halloween Productions did theinterior. Its a great addition. 8.5/10.

Walked back across the park, hit the Log Jammer and Racer. 9/10 and10/10. The Racer is so smooth. Its a proud classic ride. Then back tothe train and Raging Rapids. 5/10 and 9/10. The train needs some newscenes, and the Rapids is still a great ride.

Had a decent lunch at the West View Pavillion, and then had the usualPotato Patch fries. 8/10. Finished the day with the walk away sundae.8/10.

Back to the Thunderbolt. Its still a powerful ride, yet smooth. 10/10.King of the Coasters. Next in line for the Phantom, and a storm hit. Itwas funny to see everyone on their cell phones watching the radar.Didn't get top ride, and the storm hit.

Pretty uneventful, but always a fun day. I find myself always coming toKennywood during the Shriners Day. Its a good group to share the parkwith. Overall.....8.75/10.

Log Jammer 9/10? That thing needs replaced!

I was shocked at how good Ghostwood my first trip there this year, everything about it screams big time park. The experience is as good or better as anything Disney or Universal has in the same class.

Ditto what 8.3 said about Ghostwood. If you haven't been to Kennywood in a while, the new ride alone is worth a visit.

Agent Johnson, what? No love for Jackrabbit?

yeah, was back at Kennywood this year. Only one lap on Ghostwood. Liked it but so much to see, wish we had another spin just to look.

Keep the log jammer. One of our family favorites.

Did not see any mention of Jack Rabbit (my fav). When we were there we got to ride the last ride of the day in a thunder storm. Very fun ride yet I really miss the old 'strap' belts that gave mega air on that bump.

Agent Johnson couldn't ride the Jack Rabbit or the Phantom due the storm and early closure.

I always found myself loving the cheesiness of the old Gold Rusher or whatever it was called, but the Ghostwood Estate is now a complete experience.

I agree there is alot to see, but having a very competitve load of challengers with me, in my aunt and my two cousins made the ride much more fun.

I also agree with the Log Jammer to both the love and replacement side. I love the ride as it is one of the more unique log flumes i have been on with that upward movement after the first drop. It is however, looking a bit shabby in some areas, but a replacement of the flume would do over patching at this point, because it looks horrible when its patched.

It feels terrible as well. Its the only ride in the park that gives me a headache. Its like they put rocks on the big hill.
