Loose article brings Knott's Jaguar to a halt

When they say "no loose articles" on roller coasters, they're not kidding. A rider's jacket made its way beneath the wheels of Knott's Berry Farm's Jaguar, stopping the ride mid-course. As designed, the ride stopped all trains to prevent a collision. Riders had to be lowered off of the ride with a lift.

Read more from The LA Times. It's interesting that the two hour wait to get off from 30 feet in the air (according to various TV reports) changed to three hours and 40 feet in the hands of The Times. Yet another example of sensational journalism.

A hat on the track is what caused the Space Mountain accident at Disneyland last month.
How could a hat do that

What is life without ups and downs!?!?
Attention all riders, there is a reason that you are to secure all items. Don't ya hate it when amatures show up at a park? Someone threw a pile of fliers (like 2-300) off the top of Goliath. They stopped the ride for half an hour to arrest the jokers that did it.
here was the news from LA times

Disneyland closed the Space Mountain roller coaster through Tuesday after it malfunctioned Monday night, causing minor injuries to nine people. ""

It does not say in the paper what caused it to malfunction, but word is that a hat fell on the track annd caused the accident.

I always see TONS of hats in the trouh, on La Vibora at SFoT, the bobsled ride... Seems like those could be dangerous.
