When they say "no loose articles" on roller coasters, they're not kidding. A rider's jacket made its way beneath the wheels of Knott's Berry Farm's Jaguar, stopping the ride mid-course. As designed, the ride stopped all trains to prevent a collision. Riders had to be lowered off of the ride with a lift.
Read more from The LA Times. It's interesting that the two hour wait to get off from 30 feet in the air (according to various TV reports) changed to three hours and 40 feet in the hands of The Times. Yet another example of sensational journalism.
