Longest chian lift

Actually, no one really specified. It just turned into a thread about chain lift duration. For all we know, the creator of the thread could have been talking about length... Either way I thought my statement was somewhat interesting :P
Ninja at SFOG is pretty long, at least for me

Depending on how well the high tech stalling effect is working, Iron Dragon has to be pretty freakin close to the longest.

For me Maggie is the longest lift time. It's so loud and slow. MF is the exact opposite, silent and fast.

Steel dragon is the longest chain driven lift but then again considering that it's not even open anymore it would be Goliath and Titan.

Um, Cameraman? It was specified in the first post, second sentence:

I was just wondering what other people's longest lift hill experience was. As far as how long it took to get to the top of the hill.

considering the fact if it were alot higher, i would have to agree with mantis man on the iron dragon, that thing is so slow, you could watch them cook whole meals at the food stand next to it!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Dragon Mountain at Marineland yet?

Iron Dragon is designed to go up the lift slow. I remember reading that when the chain comes to a stop then starts back up when the train is half way up the first lift is in its design too. The reason for this to run three trains without stacking. I've been going to the park on less crowded days so I haven't seen the ride run three trains for a while now to be able tell you if it really doesn't stack. Maybe someone here can confirm this.

Many rides that are really tall usually have long lifts. Some of the older Arrows seem to go up really, really slow.

Twister at Knobel's Grove

It might not have been slow, but the lift was surprisingly long. Before I rode it, I didn't realize that it had two lift-hills connected escillator-style.

Having put my emgee hat on I checked the POV of The Ultimate and the second lift from the moment the train reaches the base of the hill til it begins it's descent is around 2m 10s.
I couldn't check for the first lift as the video starts when the train is almost at the top but I recall it crawling from the station and up that lift. The front of the train is left looking down the first drop for ages until gravity takes over.

Actually, according to the title, we're talking about the longest chian lift. I once knew a Korean guy named Chian, but I never lifted him.

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
Mine would definately be The Beast. It felt like we were goin less than 1/2 mph up the first lift. I felt like I could have walked up and down that lift hill twice in the time it took the train to climb.

Otherwise, American Eagle feels like forever, and PKI's Top Gun feels pretty slow too.

At 259 feet and 262 wouldn't Thunder Dolphin and Fungi both have the title at tallest chain lift hill operating over Gilioth and Titan.

Remember it's not just the height of the lift or the speed the train goes it's also the angle of ascent.

I've read that the dive machines take a very long time to get to the top of their lifts.

A few things, Eric :)

1. Fungi? WTF is that? There is no coaster in RCDB's database with that name.

2. Thunder Dolphin's lift doesn't use a chain.

3. The discussion is about longest amount of time spent on a chain lift, not the longest in length.

But thanks for playing ;)

Fungi I think means Togo's Fujiyama.
Ya I meant Fujiyami.

In terms of the amount of time I bet BGTs' dive machine is going to take a long time to get to the top of the lift like other dive machines.

Say it with me: "FUJIYAMA"
;)

I think its safe to say that in terms of actual length of lift would be SD2K.

For me personally, Beast and Phantom's Revenge both sucked during the lift. Well, Beast @ Nite's lift wasn't as long (I think someone said that it slows/speeds up for blocking purposes).

I did get stuck on the lift of Hurler during an enormously long stacking peroid. The train before us was in the final Brake Run, but some kid threw up on the station.
