London Eye done gone broked.

I do hope nobody was riding, though aren't its carriages all posh and stocked with food and stuff?

I hope power comes back soon.

Oh. I thought you were saying they were out of money.

Don't they have an emergency hand crank?

When'd this happen? I don't think I'd wanna "hand crank" that thing though..... ;)

Done gone broked??? My cousins in Flurrrda would say the real southern way to say it is "done broke".

BoT - Seems like "loss of power" are the rage right now. Cali seems to be the trendsetter.

No, there is no food, and they aren't really that posh. It's just a big glass pod with a bench in the middle to sit down on. If the pod is full, not everyone can sit down at the same time.

Do you have a link to a story?

I can't find a story that mentions the Eye, specifically, but MSNBC just showed some video of it while reporting on London's wannabe-like-new-york-city blackout.

Antuan -- hey, I tried. I'm from Long Island, so the whole southern belle thing is a bit of a stretch for me.

Before the blackout the London Eye was good for a more trivia headline today.

Check this picture of an artist balancing ontop of one of its gondolas for a whole round.

Wannabe New York? Hmm. OK.

Anyway, there are generators on the London Eye, and if they (or the motors) fail, it can also be pushed round manually.

That was David Blaine.
