Location, start-up money needed to reopen Bell's Amusement Park

Hahahahaha. But this story still pisses me off to no end. Here we had a viable business that was around for decades that was pounded into oblivion by a lot of political nonsense. I still can't believe, with all of the allegations of shadiness by the fairground officials, that someone didn't get sued.

They should rebuild it at the original location and have all of those corrupt politicians involved in that fiasco clean the bathrooms...wasn't there some family business getting some "handshake deal" when the Bell's got the sudden heave-ho?

I seem to recall us calling for some heads about this fairly obvious corruption three years ago... :(

The fairgrounds were in negotiations with the Bell's and the Murphy's, who operate a waterpark nearby. Murphy Bros. Expositions bring rides in for the fair. The 'sticky points' of the lease were what Bell's charged during the fair, and based on that revenue, what they should be charged the remaining weeks of operation.

Where the legal issues are, its how the lease ended, the timeframe of property removal, and what Board members favored which park in town, the Bell's ride park, or Murphy's waterpark, who, of course bring rides to town. Lots of finger pointing, in the end, put an established park who paid its bills, spent money on good rides, out of business. The rides, as mentioned, are sitting sadly in a warehouse and also in the outdoors, in the elements.

Problem is if the judges and district attorney's office are part of the good old boy and gal network along with the politicians, a lawsuit is a waste of time and money.
