Loading problem

I recently got a copy of RCT2 (a B-Day gift from my wife), but am having a few problems with it.

1.) On the initial install, I could open the game (after several tries) but on some scenarios a message came up about a missing file (pardon me, but I don't recall wich file).

2.) Sometimes when it attempts to load, the "Loading" bar comes up, gets to about 4 or 5 "blocks" and then disappears, only to appear again, attempt to load, gets to 4 or 5 "blocks" then disappears, only to appear again... etc... like it keeps failing and keeps trying to load

3.) Other times when it attempts to load, an I/O access violation message appears on screen and says something about a missing driver.

Has anyone else experienced these problems? I am trying to decide if it is a problem with the game or (as I sort of suspece) with my PC.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

Sounds like bad audio or video drivers, if I had to guess. If you can identify your hardware, try reinstalling the latest versions, or at the very least go to Windowsupdate.com and see if it auto finds new ones for you.
