Shaggy: Yes, you read correctly! We are live at PKI as we type where we just finished an incredible day of experiencing a highly themed, totally immersive, dark ride adventure!
Sean: So, exactly how is the ride? In one word......WOW! Nothing can prepare you for what happens while riding.
Shaggy: Since we could not wait to get home to tell you exactly what you should expect, we thought we would try and describe some of our feelings from today's events. So Sean, is TR:TR what you expected?
Sean: More so. I will admit that I wasn't sure if everything was going to be as impressive as hyped. I was totally BLOWN AWAY! Any expectation I had was blown away the second I entered the area. It truly is a unique ride that I think everyone will enjoy. So John, do you think this will be a hit with enthusiasts as well as the GP?
Shaggy: Absolutely, simply because of the total experience. To describe Tomb Raider as a specific type of attraction is a total understatement. From the time you enter the cave, until the time you exit you are engrossed in the surroundings. Think that Outer Limit's themeing is good? You ain't seen nothing yet. I cant wait to just see the reactions of unsuspecting riders. So Sean, what details can we share???
Sean: Well, you should know ahead of time that the ride is very re-ridable. The front row seems to be the most intense row. There is a good chance you will get wet on this ride but it seems to be completely random. I do think it is possible that those that don't like spinning rides will like this one, but that is just me. The ride was very re-ridable. The actual ride portion lasts around 2 and a half minutes so thoses that are worried about a over long ride cycle don't have to worry. I also think the ride itself is secondary to the overall experiance. Any other info John?
Shaggy: The experience is transitional. You enter a cave and then are led through different "staging areas." These areas all lead up to the final ride unit, yet they rival the climax for thrill. The cave and various rooms look like they have been their for thousands of years. If you like sensory overload experiences, this one is for you. You get wet, you are disoriented and you are overwhelmed visually. Even experienced riders such as ourselves could hardly wait to get back on. Speaking of which........
Sean: Well John, the ride is calling our name again for the 5th time so we must head on back. More info later.
Shaggy: Exactly, lets go ride!

Lucky guys, I wish I was there!!! Some people just get to have all the fun while I am bored out of my mind at school.
Anyways, I hope you can answer a few more questions about the ride, like is there some sort of video before the ride while in-line? Also how are the OTSR's ? are they different from most Huss flat rides?

Den,
One of the pictures I posted at PKIGuide.com will give you an idea of the ride system. I marked it as a spoiler, so as not to give anything away to anyone who didn't want to know.

Thanks, Chris. I actually just checked them out before you posted. Same as most Huss rides, which is not a bad thing.

Sean F. and Shaggy,
Are you going to PKI tomorrow afternoon because I am deaf and I might need some help with entering Tomb Raider and board on the ride. If you are planning on going to PKI tomorrow then will you be able to help me?
I'll be outside the gate at about 4pm if your coming to the park. Thanks.

PKI Dude
Let me try and answer some of your questions now (I am home, Shaggy isn't yet =:^)
sethman,
Yes, there is a video before you board but it doesn't show the ride. The restraint system is a lot different than those found on similar rides meaning there is no "crush your soul" bar. There is plenty of leg room. Enough for an attendant to walk by and check all restraints. It shoud be noted that you are in those restraints very snug so if you doubt you will be able to fit, there are two test seats sitting outside before you get in line.
Dennis,
I could go on and on about what the actual ride vehicle is but I won't at this time mainly for two reasons..
1. It was already mentioned in another thread
..and 2. I actually believe the ride vehicle is secondary to what happens elsewhere in the ride. You kind of forget what type or ride you are on because there is so much stuff going on. It is at this time that I fully understand the reasons behind the park keeping this so secret. You should have seen the reaction of first time riders today. It was priceless! =:^)
Derek,
Sorry, but I won't be going to PKI tomorrow. I have to work sometime. =:^)
So, in closing, I do believe PKI has a huge hit on their hands with this ride. I don't think it is intense enough to make you sick, but it will let you know youv'e been on it. The theming alone is something truly out of this world and I am sure it will have the same effect on others as it did when I first got to check it out.

I made it home Sean ;-)
Sean, you just made the best statement I have heard yet...
"I actually believe the ride vehicle is secondary to what happens elsewhere in the ride. You kind of forget what type or ride you are on because there is so much stuff going on. It is at this time that I fully understand the reasons behind the park keeping this so secret. You should have seen the reaction of first time riders today. It was priceless!"
I agree totally. The park was not being coy, or teasing, they wanted people's minds to be open to NEW and DIFFERENT sensations. Thsi is definitely no **insert ride name** in a box.....
Words cannot do it justice.

Do those seatbelts extend like the seatbelts on Phantoms Revenge??
-----------------
Sixflags+no money+airport=Sixflags Kentucky kingdom
No.
The seats and seatbelts are comperable to Drop Zone or Face Off. They are confining. But they have to be. You completely rely on them.
Sean and I were fortunate to get on a special and totally rare ride with the lights on. I have to admit I did not have any concerns about my restraint when the lights were off.... the was too much else to concentrate on. But when the effects were off and the lights on, you realize just how mammoth and high this thing is. I got concerned only that one illuminated time.
