Little story about SFMW changing height of V2.

Ok, Jeff and the others, there is your proof that there is indeed a height limit at SFMW, and that Six Flags did indeed exceed that limit. Someone said awhile ago that Medusa and V2 were the same height. On what planet? It was always obvious to me that V2 was much taller.

No... you've got it wrong. What my point is, and always has been, is that every municipality in the country for the most part has a height restriction. However, it's not the word of God, and any municipality can grant a variance from their local zoning regulations. If that weren't true, you wouldn't see wireless towers every other mile on the freeway.

Obviously, the park didn't bother to get this variance. That's a pretty stupid, and costly, mistake.

Could it have been possible to get the variance after the fact instead of having to tear it down? Or was the bond already broken, so Marine World had no choice?

Granted, but it does account for us getting a whole new (even unintended) coaster out of the deal.....

From the article... "But because the new "vertical velocity" won't be some coaster's clone and will be a one-of-a-kind, some are saying the ride could be priceless."

Come on...

du8die, have you ridde the new V2? If not, then don't judge it please.

You can't spell my hometown's name with out "Lame"! aLAMEda...:) He...he...I have the feeling I'm the only one laughing...I guess you had to be there...

Not judging. Just wondering how a ride can be priceless. Antique art can be priceless. Master Card says a memory can be priceless. What are we talking about here? There obviously is a monetary value placed on the coaster, and if you read the context of the article, that is clearly what the statement is referring to.
