Little Merrick Meteor

Has anyone been the Little Merrick this season as of yet to check out progress on Meteor. I recall that it was supposed to open in 2007 but have not yet heard anything about it opening as of yet. I'm curious as I will be in the Milwaukee area in a few weeks and thought about heading over there if it happened to be open (though I'm sure I'll be spending time in the future, as I'm alao relocating to that area.)

Supposed to be opening *really soon*, Walt. I'll be up that way Mid-August and we expect to ride.

IIRC - they had some parts issues, but they've since been resolved, and testing should be underway this weekend or next. If you're not sure, you can call them (maybe save a lot of extra driving): 608-655-3181.

Remember - It's a Schmeck, so don't DARE use the word "kiddie"...LOL! ;)

This rides basically been rebuilt from the ground up and it's course is modified.

A Schmeck/ Merrick Maybe but not a Schmeck.

Chuck, who got my rides on Teddy Bear on the Fourth and Gator hasn't :)

How has its course been modified? Regardless, it's virtually a brand new ride with maybe 1% original wood if that. The Great Escape Comet has more of the Crystal Beach Cyclone in its lifthill than that. ;) *** Edited 7/10/2007 8:55:03 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

^IIRC, Matt....the course was "enhanced" by a certain engineer someone who posts here sometimes regarding a park in rural PA...

I reserve the right to be wrong... ;)

As far as I know, the only modifications to the ride were returning it to the way it originally operated when it opened (ie lower handrails).

The course has been totally modified. It used to be a figure eight and now it does not criss cross itself at all from what Im told.

Kinda like Wolverine Wildcat feeling similar to Phoenix but it doesn't figure eight.

Chuck, who may be wrong. I do know it's mostly totally new, Just like every ride they have has been restored to better than new condition.

That's incorrect. The ride has the exact same layout it always did, criss-crosses and all.

-Nate

Ok, thanks Nate. I was told it was radically modified. Guess I was told wrong.

Hey Chuck - weren't you also told that Troy was 185' tall or something like that? Dude, better check your sources lol ;)
yeah from a GCII employee no less. Im not sure if he meant total elevation change or what.

He said he just rode it a couple weeks back and it's got the best ending of any GCII he's ridden.

It will be hard to beat OzCat's finale, as far as GCI's go.
