Driving by there a few days ago, I happenned to look over at it as I've done countless times over the years, and something seemed odd. So, I did a quick U-Turn and drove back around via the backroad that goes around the side of the park.
It seems that the winter blizzard we had a few weeks ago, which dropped 30 inches of snow on the area, was not kind to the coaster.
The lift hill and first drop have collapsed, I assume due to the weight of the snow and the high winds from the storm. I didn't have my camera on me, so I wasn't able to take any pics.
Even though the coaster has been standing there rotting away since the 80's, it was sad to see it no longer whole. Even though it was very far deteriorated, the proverbial "nail in the coffin" still hits hard with fans of the coaster.
Now from people I know who got permission and looked the coaster over. It wasn't even safe to walk on. (Hardly any of it)
Honestly, sometimes a bulldozer would be a blessing instead of the heartbreak of seeing something like that.

You *might* be confusing this one with the relocated Thunder Eagle, which app. has run into some snafu, and is delayed "until further notice"...
