Lightning Racer

Hi, this is my first post. I just cam back from a long vacation which included Hershey Park. My home park is PKI, but I have to say, Lightning Racer is such a great rollercoaster. It is so much fun. I would recommend it to everyone.

It is a great wooden coaster. One of my personal favorites.
It is, in some respects, the perfect wooden coaster. Never before have I seen a major coaster embraced as both a family ride AND a true enthusiasts' ride.

The ride is thrilling enough to keep the most jaded riders coming back for more, yet it is smooth and re-ridable so it doesn't intimidate anyone. The layout is interesting, the interaction between the trains is pure genius, and the ride is unbelievably gorgeous.

What more could you ask for?
You hit the nail on the head. Good coasters aren't just about speed and big drops, they are also about being nice riding, having interesting layouts and being FUN! Racing coasters are just that--FUN when the parks put effort in to actually racing them......you will hear more rider reaction on a racing coaster that is racing than any other type of coaster.
It's "FUN". That's it. I don't find Lightning Racer to be anything more than "FUN". I prefer the awesome, intense, out-of-control Wildcat.
GandC-

Are you paying people to start so many Hershey topics? ;)

Yes, it is great coaster both in in how it performs and how it looks. Yes, recommend it to everyone. The compteting nature of the ride is a real treat when you have your family with and you always split up to go against each other. My daughter for some strange reason was always on the winning train, whether she rode with me or her twin brother or she rode alone (the other one or two was always on the other trains). This spanned two days in late June this year, must have been 10 rides. She was undefeated, I can't figure it out. But it sure added an extra element of fun. Truly unique.

I know you rider Gonna miss me when I'm gone

i think gci lost out due to cci's high popularity which really is a shame (i love cci though). GCI has some really awesome designs and I wish more people would look into racing/duelings from them with those sweet millennium flyer trains. Oh well.
