lift hill incidents

i was wonderin. at after prom, my brother and his girlfreind got stuck on the blue side of gemini at cp. the park apoligized, said its never happened before and after an hour, got them down. to apoligize, they gave them 2 front of the line passes, good for this whole season. this ever happened to anybody?

I have been stuck many a time on lifthills, especially at SF Great America. But I do not remember them giving me a front of the line pass...LOL. Cedar Point does seem to know how to treat it's guests well.

hill lifts stop all the time, colossus at thorpe park did today and i am sure loads more around the world did, it is a regular occurance. sometimes it stops for a few seconds in order to let the block infront of it to clear, but lifts just have a thing about stopping, i mean having them all day cant be good for them however much they are desinged to go for that long!

Not on the Blue Streak,but on another CP coaster I'd have to say yep.I really don't want to go where this topic is leading,have fun with your tickets.:)

Once on Steel Force the we stopped on the lift and after a little a person came up and told us it would start up again soon and it did. Whoopdy-doo. ; )

Was stuck on Iron Dragon at the second lift for 45 minutes....had to tinkle. They gave us the passes as well, but it was only good for one time. Interesting that their passes would be good for the whole season.

again, my englishness is getting in the way again, but what is a prom night at a park?! i know what a prom is, but what does a theme park prom have??

Actually I think he meant the passes could be used once at any time during the season, not a front of the line pass for the whole season.

I've been stuck on B:TR's lift at SFGAm about 5 years ago, and I never got helicopter coverage like those poor poor people on Titan got last year! ;) Helicopter coverage for a ride doing what it should... Don't we love sensationalization?

Deja Vu count this season: 1, but thats still more than most other people who've been to SFGAm this season!

I got stuck at the top of Maggies lift for an hour about 6 or 7 years ago. Nice view, kinda neat tyo walk down too. But I did not get a front of the line pass.

I will try and answer your question.

I am assuming that either Cedar Point hosted an after prom party or some kids went to Cedar Point after prom.

Here on the other side of the Atlantic, once prom is over for the night; schools , civic groups, or places like Cedar Point will offer a safe place to go and have some fun so that high school kids do not go out and drink or another dangerous activity after prom .

In short, Cedar Point would rather have kids getting high from riding coasters rather than get high from drinking or doing drugs.

Yeah they probably want people to ride coasters not other people. ;)

I got stuck on S:ROS at sfdl in the front seat and this guy came up and told us "the ****in sensors are all ****ed up so just wait!" finally the buzzer from the station came on (its really cool ;)

I got stuck on the Lightning Racer lift hill for about 25 minutes in its opening season. We were only about half way up. They gave us complimentary food & drink coupons, and admission for another day(which was a bonus since I have a season pass.) I got to take a friend for free later in the season.

Lift hills get stuck all the time the x-flight at six flags worlds of adventure, seemed to get stuck ever couple of hours last season. Go along with the territory. If you ride sometimes the break
