Life without B&M.......

What do you think life would be like with no B&M?

No floorless :(

Rollercoasters are the secret of life!

There wouldn't be no Raging Bull, Medusa (SFMW), and Dueling Dragons to name a few :(

That wouldn't be cool because B&M makes a lot of the world's coaster, and many of them world records. No floorless, inverted, hyper, and stand-up.

I think people would be a lot less sensitive to rough coasters. I remember when PKI's Vortex came out, people talked about how it was smooth as glass. Compared to a wooden coaster, yes. But then B&M came about and redefined smooth.
Sure it would be sad, but you would never know it. Some other company may have come up with those or similar innovations(god I hope not Vekoma). Perhaps Giovanola would be in the position of B&M, or Intamin, or some other different company. We have B&M now, be happy. If we never did have them would know what you were missing?

Any resemblance to living or
dead people is purely coincidental.
I'm pretty sure that Giovanola would like to do stuff like B&M, but since B&M use the track that Giovanola manufacturers from their plant, their designs are pretty much identical (See Anaconda, Gold Reef City; a Giovanola Invert). Even the hypercoasters bear a resemblence.
With Anaconda, apparently, B&M asked them to keep it a two acrosss train, to reduce the similarity.

Therefore, I think, that without B&M, Giovanola would have been free to make their own coasters the way they wanted them. But then again, without Bolliger and Mabillard leaving Intamin and joining with Giovanola, Giovanola might not have left Intamin at all.
That would not be very good with no B&M, No smooth Inverts.
I don't think I would be a coaster nut if there was no B & M. Hulk and DD were my first 'big" coasters and had it not been for their smoothness I don't think I would have had the nerve to try other coasters.

Ask me what life would be like without CCI instead. That's when I would probably no longer be an enthusiast. Ghostrider got me back into it.

As long as Arrow was alive and kicking I would be fine
There would be no life, no B&M=no life, they make awesome hypers, loopers inverts, standups, and floorlesses, not to mention dive machines, and soon to be flying coasters. They revolutionized the coaster industry.

"Thank you for challenging the Raging Bull. We hope you enjoy the rest of you're day, here at Six Flags Great America."
As long as there are coasters there will be Intamin and vice versa.
Actually, B&M and Giovanola (sp?) use different track types, but just barely. B&M's crossties go something like this \_/ while giovanola's does \/ check out this link http://www.coasterbuzz.com/news/news.asp?NewsID=1193 for more info.

Inverted, yes. Giovanola, Vekoma, or Intamin would have developed it.
Hyper, what are you talking about?!? They were around before B&M was! (by 1 year.)
Stand-up, those were before B&M, ever hear of TOGO?
Floorless, you got me there.

Life would suck without B&M, but we wouldn't know the difference. If they never existed, we wouldn't be missing out on anything at all. All would be well in our minds. I'm sure other companies would have come up with thier major inovations (mainly Inverted, which has happend. I think it's only a matter of time before another company comes up with thier version of a floorless coaster.)

My favorite Coaster is named after Poop, and I actually like Boomerangs! What is wrong with me?
No B&M in Toronto = I am stuck with the PCW's Top Gun - Vekoma SLC!

The SKYRIDER (ugly logo) - stand-up is made by TOGO!

The best coaster in Paramount Canada's Wonderland is a severely short Vortex - Arrow suspended coaster

As a view from someone who never rided a B&M... I was really insensitive from rough coasters (e.g. TOGO standup, Vekoma SLC), until this year, when the lines are short enough, I've ridden them enough times and I can now feel the roughless of these coasters. *** This post was edited by Dark Luke on 8/14/2001. ***
TrBiggar -
Dude, B&M coasters I'm talking about. Hypers, stand-ups, and inverted coasters from B&M are the best. I was talking ONLY about B&M. There wouldn't be Raging Bull, Nitro, Batman: The Ride, Mantis, Raptor, and Riddler's Revenge to name a few.
