Liberty Launch goes vertical on Tuesday

Well put, Mark.

Don't forget, too, that although Holiday World's tower may be short, it's a Double Shot, which is a VERY thrilling ride (at least IB's sure is )

(For those who haven't ridden them, Double Shots launch you up to the top and then immediately launch you back down, giving a BIG pop of air. Hysterically fun)

Where have people been "dogging" on SFOT's, anyway? And why bring SF into this discussion, by EITHER side?

I know why SF was brought into this conversation, because it's the offseason and everyone is looking for something to do like fuss and cuss about something so trivial as an amusement park on an internet forum board. Sheesh people, get over yourselves, get away from the computer, and don't take the CF/SF/local park war to heart. It's all supposed to be fun remember?

No, I'm just saying the fact that people bash the 315ft S:ToP, (which, mind you, is perfect for a thrill park like SFoT) but noone bashes the 80ft Liberty Launch, which has a much dumber name, is wrong.

"Dumber" name....doubt it. Liberty Launch, in the middle of this *outpouring of patriotism*, in the 4th of July section of the park, has alliteration and fits the theme. It's an 80' SHOT tower, hence the name Launch, (NOT a drop ride for those who were confused) that will stay within the confines of this FAMILY park. A 315' tower in HW would basically destroy the theme and feeling of the park (to say NOTHING of their budget, lol).

If there's ONE park out there that DOESN'T require the services of *GD&T*, it's Holiday World....kudos AGAIN, guys!

bill, who can't help but *suck up*. It's a *sweetheart park* for a REASON, folks...:):):):):)

I'm sure people also appreciate that it's a creative name rather then Superman this or that. I really like the name Liberty Launch, and guess what? I don't hate Six Flags, and I have never been to Holiday World.

And a fine one it is, too, Paula. Looking forward to getting launched a few times at SRM 2003.

As if there was ANY doubt....:)

For some reason I think it is easily concievable to be excited about Superman: Tower of Power and Liberty Lauch at the same time. Each is an excellent ride in their own way, and each is ideal for their respective parks.

In that spirit, I wish Holiday World the best of luck with this new rides, and hope that sooner or later I can make it to the park from out here in California!

Get back to me on name creativity when HW has over 20 parks.

I'd rather see one GOOD small park, than 20 poorly run parks.

You know what? I hate Six Flags. They ARE poorly run. The employees frown at you, rides never run, and the parks are just plain dirty. But bashing a ride because it's at a Six Flags park is wrong, just wrong. That's the entire point of the argu- I mean debate.

I'm not saying SF is good or that HW is bad. I'm saying that you do and you know you do bash rides because they're at SF.

(and this DOES belong here because its about a DROP ride that's not getting bashed, when a perfectly good one at SF is)

Absolutely correct. SF bashing is highly present on all the different coaster message boards that i have browsed and quite frankly it's disgusting.

Anyway, sorry, back on topic; it is a great installation for Holiday World, fits perfectly into the park i would imagine, and i'd love to be able to visit someday.

Note to all: Santa's Lodge is owned by Baymont Inns & Suites. It is a separate business from the park.
