Let's stop the CP/SFMM stuff!!!
Jeff, feel free to remove this if it's not appropriate. But every so often I run across something that I feel people need to read. This was posted to another forum by a guy named Mike. It's puts what has been going on here to absolute shame.
It seems a lot of people here are very defensive about Six Flags Magic Mountain and Cedar Point. Maybe looking at it from this perspective will help a little. You have to look at both parks from a perspective of never have been to either before. One of my favorite things to do when I go to Magic Mountain (I live about 8 hours waway in Reno, Nv) is to take someone or a couple of people who has never been there before. Driving up the mountain parkway, I love to watch their mouths drop when they see the Viper for the first time, and then notice the 400 foot tower of Superman, and then the bright gleaming orange Goliath. I recently took my friend Angela and her husband Jeff, and they had never been there before. To them, it was so unbelievable that so many different types of coasters were in one park. And do you think they noticed that Viper had it's trim brakes on full force, or that the Collossus needed a paint job? No. They just enjoyed the beautiful park, and the fun rides. We could all learn something from this: If we go to a park with no expectations, then we won't be let down. The next time I went to Magic Mountain after I took them, I let go of my expectations and you know what? I had fun!
Now, I have never been to Cedar Point before, but I've heard good things and bad things. But when I go I am not going to have any expectations. I will just have fun. Remember, a theme park is not only about running like robots from ride to ride to see if it's any better or worse than the last time you rode it, or if it needs a paint job. It is about being with friends, having fun, and enjoying a beautiful sunny day at a theme park. I don't think anyone could have said it better. I've never been to either park, and when I do get to go, I'm going to have fun not critique the parks.

And I for one would like to see the forum clear out of these stupid arguements about these two parks. Just ride the rides, tell us how much fun they are or not and stop whinning about who is coaster capital and who isn't. WHO CARES!!!!!!!?????? It's about fun not who can outdo the other. Just enjoy the rides and stop worrying about who's getting what. These people making an issue over this coaster arms race have too much time on their hands.
I grow tired of these arguments as well. Rest assured, they will likely begin to disappear. ;)

Stop your bellyaching and just ride. When I go to Cedar point in 2001, I will ride MF for the first time. Hopfully it will be on opening day. I will try to make it to sfmm in 2002 for the event. When I go i will just ride the rides
