LeSourdsville Lake possible event question.

Monday, June 24, 2002 5:57 PM

Hello all,

Last week I had to chance to have a meeting with the nice folks atLeSourdsville Lake as mentioned in my latest trip report. The main reason I went to the park was to talk to them face to face about the possibility of doing an event there sometime in the near future.

Not only where they interested, they gave me a few ideas of what we could do. Did you know that the Screechin' Eagle turns 75 this year? This would be
the perfect time to have an event there celebrating the birthday of one of the best coasters in Ohio. Don't ya' think?

Here is where I need your input.

The park said we could very well have an event there sometime in August if everything goes as planned. We haven't set an exact date yet. I told my contacts that I would get info from you guys on what you would think would be the ideal day for an event there.

All you have to do is send me a reply back with a date. I will collect all the info from everyone and give it to the park as soon as possible. I would like to have as much info from everyone by the 9th of July but will still accept e-mails until the end of July if needed.

Due to the volume of e-mail I will be receiving regarding the event date, I will not be responding to any of the responses you send unless you ask me a
specific question that needs to be answered. All you have to do is send me an e-mail with "Lake (and date you wish)" to irishcoast@columbus.rr.com and I will do the rest.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd love to go (and really have a strong NEED to go to Stricker's). But unfortunately I've used all my leave until 2006 during the past month..:(. I do have to say that when I hit the lottery, I'm buying a summer home in Ohio (right near the IN border)....you're "the bomb", Sean......

Well, I think an event on a Sunday would be good with either morning or late ERT on The Eagle.

Charge $20-$25 for the entire event (including gate admission, but NOT parking) Have a Lunch set-up, and a photo walk-back. That would be gravy.

Perhaps Sunday the 18th or 25th would be a good day.

August 25th wouldn't work for me, since it is the GOCC IB event. I can't do the 3rd & 4th either, but any of the rest are fine. And get us Scrambler ert! Love that thing.....12 rpms baybee!

Good job Sean! This would be a great gathering.

My input would be the day before Stricker's August 'open to the public day.' I have a feeling a lot of us would be heading down that way anyway for Strickers on the 11th. Just an idea...

August 11th sounds good..no college or school yet for those of us who unfortunately have to plan coaster trips around classes. Kara, you're a genius (disclaimer: she brainwashed me into saying that). :)

The 10th sounds great! That would be perfect for those attending Strickers. Good thinking Timbers Kara. :) Have I asked for Scrambler ERT yet?
