Length of the coaster

When you ride a coaster, do you care how long it is? My answer to this is not really as long as I have fun on the coaster. What about you peoples?

Some rides are fantastic, despite being "too short." Raven, Montezooma's Revenge, Top Gun (PGA and PKI) and the B:TR clones all come to mind. I always laugh when someone says that Batman is not good because it is too short. Gimme a break, sure if it were longer, it would be nice, but it is awesome despite its lack of length.

I agree with K Walk and Soggy. Rides that I enjoyed such as Volcano: The Blast Coaster and Thunderbolt (SFNE), were very fun and exhilarating. Some of the best rides out there are not very long such as Superman: The Escape, and Superman: The Ultimate Escape. In my opinion, as long as a coaster can bring people back for more, an example being Raven, size does not matter. *** This post was edited by NoRulz2k on 1/30/2001. ***
It's not the size of the wave, it's the motion of the ocean!

Length doesn't really matter to me, but I hate when the ride is over especially on short rides. So I guess I do prefer long rides.

Length doesn't matter as long as it packs a punch(TG @ PKI). But I've been on really bad long ones(MS @CP). So I really don't care. I'll ride even the bad ones if the lines aren't bad. So ,it's all good.
When it's a good coaster don't we find the ride is never really as long as we would like it to be. And on those awful rides they seem to go on forever...
I think length does not matter. the experience of the ride you have just went through is what its all about...the g's, twisting, dropping...and so on...no matter how long or short...The Chiller(SFGADV)is what...48 seconds long?( maybe less, im not sure) its one of the most insane bits of time youll ever have on a coaster, and youll never forget it. thats what its all about.
I think some rides are okay to be short. Montezooma's and Supreme Scream(or any freefall) are prime examples. However, I think complete circuit coasters should be long. I don't care for the length of Batman or Goliath. I think they're great rides, I just wish they were longer.
Two coasters come to mind that are short, but really good nonetheless. The first is Volcano at PKD. It's short, but the two launches are incredible and the speed going into the 2nd launch is incredible. The second would be Millennium Force believe it or not. The running time is only 1:40 from the station to the brakes, but again the speed is incredible.
Well I can think of two coasters that the lenght really bothered me. Not that they were too short as I feel a really good coaster should leave you wanting more, but these coasters were too long. Because they didnt really do much for me in terms of high positive, negative or lateral Gs, I was ready to get off about halfway through. Those coasters were the Incredible Hulk Coaster and Mean Streak.
