Legoland developers switch park plans from Kansas to Missouri

Developers wanting to bring a theme park based on the Lego building blocks to the Kansas City area are now looking on the Missouri side of the state line. RED Development, which is working with Legoland, has abandoned an earlier plan to build the park in Olathe, Kan., after discussions with local officials fell through, according to The Kansas City Star. Park will be the centerpiece of a 100-acre, $539 million development that would also include an aquarium and a retail and office project.

Yeah, that's like, the good side of KC, right?

Olathe is near the "bad" side (Kansas City, KS), but Olathe itself is fine as far as I know. Worlds of Fun is on the east side (Kansas City, MO) or "good" side. I don't have first hand knowledge of the good/bad, but have heard about it from family/friends.
KCK is where a lot of the major crime you hear about occurs. It is also the poorest part of the metro area. Village West though on the KS side is becoming quite a "boom" town with Legends shopping area opening there near the Speedway and Schlitterbahn coming soon.
I'm not so sure. The Overland Park/Olathe area is pretty damn affluent. I work in the Village West area mentioned, and live in Overland Park, about five minutes from where the proposed site was. Its, like I said, a VERY nice area. There are really bad parts of KCK (As there are really bad parts of KCMO, for what its worth), but no where near the area in question.

As far as where Worlds is, I've only been over that way a couple of times, and its ok, but as for someone who grew up in Williamsburg, VA, I'm a much bigger fan of the southwest side of town than the northeast.

^What does the fact that you grew up in Williamsburg have to do with liking the southwest side of town?
A love for the Colonial life?
