Posted | Contributed by Jeff

The Polar X-Plorer roller coaster at Legoland Billund in Denmark will take riders around a snowcapped mountain and under a frozen waterfall before sending them crashing through an ice-covered lake.

Why on earth does a roller coaster in Denmark make the LA Times?

I was wondering the same thing.

With Legoland(s) it could be a precursor of what might come to the Lego California park. As a Floridian I'm kind of interested in what they ae doing in Europe since they are pretty good about finding something that works and then spreading it around. There are tons of similarities between the Lego park in England and the one in Florida.

Plus, it sounds like a cool (no pun intended) ride.

I think "made the LA Times" is a bit of a stretch...

They appear to have a dedicated amusement / theme park blog called Fun Land that reports (albeit sporadically) on all things amusement industry, not just SoCal area.

Good to see Zierer getting more work and building bigger, more exciting and unqiue coasters.

I think the LA Times is trying to target the Southern California coaster/park nuts (and seem to be succeeding).

I wonder what they have in store for the Carlsbad park?

Amen to that twice! Still think Lagoon's Wicked is better than any of the Eurofighters I've ridden.
