Lego Carousel

The pretty parts took about two hours, if I remember correctly (it was getting late at that point). That seems like a long time in retrospect, because all of the pieces you have left at that point go into those sections.

Nice!

Dutchman, do you know what the RPM of the Balboa Park carousel is? It seems faster than most.

"I go out at 3 o' clock for a quart of milk and come home to my son treating his body like an amusement park!" - Estelle Costanza

I seem to recall that it spins at 5RPM (I haven't clocked it lately to check my memory, even tho I work a block down from it). It has a 48' platform so that would make the rim speed 8.56MPH.

That looks like so much fun to build, I was thinking of buying one myself. That or one of the coaster dynamix models (any suggestions, comet or scorpion?)

I always wanted the Lego Airport Shuttle Model #6399. The price on Amazon is $1,485.99!

^ Try Ebay for stuff like that I find Amazon Second Hand dealers are selling stuff up to 2-5x more than what they're going for on Ebay. I remember seeing a Hard to Find PlayStation 2 Ethernet Card going for $200, I got it on eBay for less than $40.

Wow, this looks really cool. If you get tired of the Microsoft gig, you could check out Brass Ring Entertainment :-)

I have Lego Ferris Wheel that my wife got me for Christmas a few years back. Those are hard to find nowadays and will run you close to $300 on eBay.

I found the lego carousel at the lego store in downtown disney. Price was $249.00

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

And for anyone looking for the carousel and cannot find it - the Lego store online appears to have it:

Yes, it's available at any Lego store and online. It's not hard to obtain, it's just expensive.
