Legendary Wooden Coasters

Everyone wants Crystal Beach Cyclone Look at SOB's layout

Even though SoB isn't quck fire like CBC would be. You all hate it and would be the first to B*** when you got it.

Actually, I happen to love Sonny (Hercules too), so I likely wouldnt mind so much seeing a rebirth of the CBC.

Anyway, if I had to pick one, it'd be the Riverview Bobs. Not so much for myself but for my parents so they could re-live their memories.

Idora Wildcat, duh! That thing looked wild, to bad it's current condition is a bit, uhhh.... delapidated.
Jeremy, I know you and others like me don't mind or even like SOB. Heck the Line is usually longer than Papa even though it has better capasity.

I do know another coaster I would love to see rebuilt is the Crecent park Zepher. That thing is so COASTER like it's got to be cool

Try bulldozed and removed two years ago.

The Dipper at Chippewa fits the Delapidated thing... bummer...

Why does everyone think if they rebuild the CB Cyclone, it will be as violent as the original? You can take the same layout and tweak the banking/profile just right and bam, you got another GCI masterpiece. I'm not talkin' Raging Wolf Bobs tweaks. I mean look at the banking on (The) Thunderhead. I don't see why it can't be done without sacrificing the thrills. As a joke, they could have one of the ride ops dressed up as a nurse. :)

I'd really like to see Riverview Park return to Des Moines along with the wooden coaster of course and that wicked wild nouse that I grew up hearing stories about.

I agree with Matt. With the technology available today, I'm sure GCII would have no problem pulling off a re-rideable CB Cy-Clone. I'd say the banking on Thunderhead is fairly close to what was done by Traver, and in this day and age it could be tweaked for ultimate pleasure.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
I would love to see the Coney Island WildCat rebuilt.

I forgot about that, dang I can't believe it has been that long. To bad I wasn't even born when it closed, man I'd love to ride that. A runner up would have to be the Port Arthur comet, I'm suprised it hasn't been rebuilt, the thing has a simple layout and looks like it would be so much fun.

im with Vortex, the Coney Island Wildcat would be great....as it was the inspiration for PKDs Grizzly :)

also, Shooting Star at Lakeside Park in Salem VA

Sky Rocket, Oceanfront Park Norfolk VA

any Harry Traver Cyclone.....

heck...any woodie pre 1950 would be fine for me, haha :)

still trying to think of a good signature...

West View Park....a-a-a-a-h..... (dries tear).

The Dips was great, but the Racing Whippet was WVP's Masterpiece. Built right into the terrain. Unpredictable no matter how many times you rode it. At night it was particularly awesome, you couldn't see a thing!

Sadly, I get to tread on it every time I shop at Giant Eagle. The park closed the year I got my driver's license. Bummer.

Who remembers the water fountains that always smelled like eggs?

I would have to put the Rye Aeroplane at the top. Then the Long Beach Cyclone Racer, followed by The Tornado at Coney Island. Others include The West View Dips, Revere Lightning, Palasades Cyclone, The Wild Cat at Purita (sic) Springs and last but not least The Revere Cyclone (I've ridden it).
I'd say the Craig Beach Greyhound, or Idora Park Jack Rabbit (Back Wabbit)

2006 - 2009 Cedar Fair Ride Operations
2009 - Walt Disney World Attractions.

The Screechin Eagle and the WG Cyclone. Give it a new track, new train, and replace the water that they use on the lift hill with some oil and the coaster will be as good as new.

There is no such thing as a terrible Coaster just ones that haven't been taken care of

I wish they would build "The Beast" circa 1979! You know...the one without the overbearing brake action and prior to the tunnel completion on the helix. The one with the 4 bench cars and faded paint scheme. The one with the saliva filled pond under the station and beer guzzling crazies in line! The maintenance nightmare that delivered the greatest coaster experience this enthusiast has EVER had!

If they refurbished this badboy to its original form...ALL of us would do nothing but argue about what is the 2nd best coaster...

I would love to see the Sterling's Million Dollar Coaster at Rocky Glen park. In fact, I would like all the Rocky Glen coasters rebuilt, in their original locations in the park. **SIGH**

Real men ride wood... coasters that is!
1. Hastings Park Giant Dipper (Must operate with at least one of the original trains that is now running on the Puyallup Coaster Thrill Ride)

2. Jantzen Beach Dipper (Since that almost was my first coaster)

3. Cyclone Racer

4. Mister Twister

5. CI tornado

6. Savon Rock Cyclone

7. Riverview Bobs

If the coaster ever had a name, I don't know it. Everybody I know just called it "the Scenic." But about 15 miles from my home was a Miller/Baker coaster circa early 1920's, built along the edge of a man-made lake. It was gone before I was old enough to ride.

How about a wooden Flying Turns coaster? ;)

"Life's What You Make It, So Let's Make It Rock!"
Ok, anything at Euclid Beach, I rode the Racer when I was like 2 and don't remember it. The Puritas Springs Cyclone. My dad rode it, I found pieces of it in the woods. My third choice might be this coaster, I was never at the park, never even heard of the park until I spent a few hours just clicking the Random Roller Coaster link on RCDB.

The Comet at Cascade Park in New Castle PA:

Looks like a helluva head chopper!
