Lead Operator And Crew.

Generally what's the role of a Lead Ride Operator, and their crew? What type's of duties does each have, and how do their duties involve the rider (patron)?

Thanks.

Hmmm...the Lead keeps the positions rotated and the crew breaked and lunched...and takes hourly turnstyle readings. At least when I was one.

The lead is in charge of singing songs, making sure water guns are full, joking with guests, whistling movie themes for "guess the movie by its theme song trivia game", and yelling "walk please... thank you".

Mostly to keep everything running well, and to ensure very bad things don't happen.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Curious, but why so many questions?

Anyways, at KW we usually have one manager and one assitant on each crew, maybe more depending on the size of your crew.

Their duties include: making the weekly schedule, the break sheet, the daily time sheet in which they add up everyones hours they worked and turn into the office. Also filling out the position sheet for each ride and who cleaned where in the morning and who closed there at night. They also cut the lines at night or before a mechanical shutdown, plus training checklists and training new people or extras.

What're their roles during actual operation of their attraction?

It depends. If breaks haven't started yet or have finished, they may not actually be working on the ride. Alot of ride areas have back rooms or offices where all the paperwork gets done. If they are working, I'd venture to say that they would most likely be driving a ride- as in sitting down.

Well useually at SFGAm there is no "lead operator". There is a Ride Supervisor position but the Ride op who is operating the ride at the main control station is in charge of supervising the checking of restraints and the other ride ops. They are also responsible for announcing the ride op rotation. That is just what i have observed over the years.
