Last track sections have arrived for new PKI coaster

Posted | Contributed by Shawn Wehrley

The final truckload of track sections are laid out at PKI for their newest coaster, the Rugrats Runaway Reptar. The track is now being installed on the coaster frame. The namesake for the coaster (a 30ft. Reptar Dinosaur), can be seen in the service warehouse area of Kings Island as the work crews put the two major sections together. The large lizard will be installed in front of the world's first junior inverted coaster. As of this writing there are 34 days till the park opens for the 2001 season.

Excellent pics! Looks like they're installing the track backwards. Final truckload? Are you camped out on the Eiffel Tower or what? ;)

Nah, I just work next to PKI so I can keep an eye on them eveyday, and when something looks interesting I hop in a plane a take a spin over the park and take shots. They can probably recognize my plane by now. :)

By the way, Shawn, what type of job do you do that you can just get in a plane and fly over PKI anytime you want to? :)

Can you take me higher? (CREED)
The flying isn't part of my job, it's just a hobby. And I live 10 minutes from Kings Island, work one block from Kings Island, and the airport is 10 minutes from Kings Island. So it is pretty easy for me.

All the supports look like an incredible maze... Should be great with tons of headchopper effects!

I don`t think there will be head chopper effects as its an inverted coaster but rather leg chopper effects. I am begining to think that this coaster will be ready by opening day, 33 days from now!
