Info:We found a park in Iowa called Arnold's Park. They were in the same boat as Joyland is. They turned the park over to a museum and made it a non-profit organization. Then they held a telethon to raise money. Within the fundraiser they raised $9 million. The town that the park is in has a ...population of 3,000. So with our population and all of the supporters of Joyland I think this could be a real possibility for us.
Thank you

CITY OF WICHITA PLOTS TO DESTROY JOYLAND-pass this on to everyone. The city is buying the property from the Nelsons.Once the property is obtained it is going to be declared a flood zone + no one can build anything there ever again. The Nelsons asked the city to not make this public. They have until Dec 1st to get everything they want out of the park and then the demolition is supposed to start.

^This really sucks. I know, money usually wins out - but it's not until later that people see that.

Poor little 'nightmare' coaster. What a beautiful ride.

^You got to ride Nightmare, Billy? Joyland was one of the parks I had yet to get to, but still had hope for....like Whalom, or Bell's (actually made the parking lot at Bell's, but a small tornado had beaten us there).

Sadly, it seems like Bell's may be the only one even in a negotiating position at this point...

I rode Joyland's woodie back in the mid-90s. What a gem! Here hoping it can somehow be saved.

Has anyone contacted the owners of the park yet?

The Nelson's have given up the ghost and started cleaning house. It's been confirmed that Joyland Louie has been sold to a collector.

Thats too bad. :(
