Last Season F/Eagle @ SFGAm

I personally like Shock Wave (especially in the back) and hope it doesn't get torn down soon.

As far as American Eagle, all it needs is a full refurbishment as well as redesign it to get rid of the long straight section and boring helix at the far end.

And most of all, let the ride do like it was designed to do - race!

X Factor,

You are right about the straight section on the blue side of the American Eagle and racing the trains. However I strongly disagree with what you said about the helix. The helix is fine. What they need to do is get rid of the stupid brakes before the helix.

While at SFGAm a couple days ago I was wondering how American Eagle was when it opened in 1981. Does anyone remember its first few years of operation? Was it faster?

the park has alot of space. when you go on sky trek tower you can really see the land they can still utilize, especially the land clear going on at the north east corner of the park (near shock wave)

I rode it it '83. What I can remember (other then it was a 2 hour wait) was there were some lateral g's in the helix, so it must have went through the brakes at a pretty good clip. I've ridden it several different times through the 80's and 90's, but it seems like the brakes were there all those times.

While I do agree that flying into the helix without the brakes would improve the ride, I can't see how it would become a "top ten" ride. That's a bit of a stretch.

So many coasters - so little time.

I don't think SF owns that property right now. I think that it would be a good place to expand. could be wrong though. I mean SFGAm is pretty much land locked right now(The reason being they took down 2 rides to put up DejaVu, and relocated a ride for V2. Just my thoughts. Sorry if I got a little off topic.

7/20/01 im sprinting 4 DejaVu @ sfgam

If "they" re-move AE, SFGAm could add a Arrow 4d coaster.

Don't Fight It: Ride It! Raging Bull
That would kick some major a#$ !!!! I say tear it down and get a 4d and tear down ShockWave for a B&M Floorless or giga or even better a wooden giga(i know that isn't made yet but it would be cool :) )
