It's been many years, but I was the last rider on a wooden coaster (my first ever) called "The Big Dipper" at Springlake Amusement Park in Oklahoma City. Me and my mom rode it like 5 times one day when I was 12 and were on the last ride of the day. The next day, we were watching the news and they said that the thing burned down along with a few buildings that night. The park closed since they only had that coaster and a few carnival rides. Kinda sad, it was my mom's first coaster too when she was about my age. *** This post was edited by Kingthong on 6/9/2001. ***
I got on the last train for Steel Phantom last season so I am allowed to say that I was one of the last ever to go on SP. See ya soon PR!
hmmm

I was the in the 4th train of X-Flight the day it opened to the public. (Not commercial shoot).

And last year, I was the first person (public) in the season to ride the Hometown Fun Machine.

Sorry, no autographs.
Last season, I had to catch the last train on the scariest night ride in the World! And it was a Halloween Fright Fest night!

-The Beast!!!

I got to ride the Big Bend at SFOT shortly before it was removed, which was my first ride on a real roller coaster. I also got to ride the Kraken at Sea World Orlando during the employee preview party for it, which was 1 day before season passholders, 5 days before ACE, and 12 days before the general public. Hope to be first on X!

I was on the last Beast train of 2000, in fact I sort of make it a tradition of sorts. Either sanctioned or unsanctioned.

By sanctioned I mean:

In 1999 there was a small ACE event at PKI, not much fanfare about it, but it consisted of a meal in the International Restaurant and a hard hat tour of the SOB construction site. At dinner they announced that they would reserve the last train of the evening for event attendees. They did they closed the ride while they held us in a waiting area, and after the ride cleared, let us have at it, actually walking us up the OLD exit ramp, the one that comes out alongside the current entrance ramp.

In 2000, I don't know how sanctioned it was, but they allowed a group of ACErs to mingle in front of the Beast until all the regular riders had ridden, then they loaded up one last train with us. The ride was most memorable for those in the front car as we sang "It's a Small World" up the lift hill in the most loud and obnoxious voice.

Note that PKI added a weekend in November last season after Fright Fest, but you had to go to LaRosas to find out about it. It was the LaRosas Close the Park weekend, ro some such. Actually a great deal as Larosas had coupons that allowed folks to buy tickets for only $16.95 each.
