Last night on CSI

I was watching CSI last night, a show I don't normally watch but... The lead guy was talking with one this one girl, telling her that she needs to find some interests outside of work or else she will end up burning out. Then he admits that he is a coaster freak.

This is a big step for us. The public is finally coming to realize that we do exist and that we didn't choose to be this way - we were born like this. We are not going away so you better learn to deal with us.

I usually watch CSI and I missed it last night. I wonder if William Peterson is a coaster freak in real life. There was an episode where he rode Manhattan Express.

LOL! 100% true. And the Sydney Mardi Gras is on tonight!

We could have a Coaster Gras where we have a huge celebration of coasters!

BTW, what does CSI stand for? Regarding the post below, what's that got to do with coaster freaks?? :^)

Ok.. off topic but I HAVE to weight in here. MY best friend and ex-g/f works on the this show out in L.A. Episode #105 was the one that used footage of Manhattan Express and the way it came about it kinda funny.

So a few months ago I'm sitting in my room when the phone rings. It's my g/f and she's in a production meeting with about 30 people and I'm on speaker phone. Seems that Grissom (played by William Peterson) get rather emotional and needs to relax. Grissom is a rather high strung character so they needed something unusual for him to calm down. Billy likes coasters himself so he suggests Grissom should too. And they have a problem and she knows what a coaster nut I am so she pulls me into the convo.

Now the show supposedly takes place in Vegas but is actually mostly shot in Valencia (anyone seeing where this is going??). So they originally wanted footage of Grissom riding High Roller but the owners won't allow it. So the idea of getting footage of Billy just riding a ride over at SFMM (which can actually be seen from most of thier offices) comes up and the g/f says "Nope.. won't work.. different types of caosters there vs. Vegas, but I know someone who can help us."

So there I am talking on speakerphone to all the people who are on the show and the producers and such and they explain their problem and also what they are looking for. A night shoot.. lots of lights.. and it hits me.. Manhattan Express.. Comming over that lift hill at night is just amazing.

So they go with is, shooting 2 laps of POV and one with the camera on Billy. About a week later, I receive a video in the mail with all the raw pickup footage they used.. I have some BEAUTIFUL POV of ME at night.

So come Jan, I go out to visit, got to hit SFMM, Knotts, and Disneyland of course, but one of the highlights was sitting on set, talking to Billy about coasters and such.
