Last Day of the Season

Well, it's that time of year again, this season really flew by. Many parks close for the year tomarrow, so what are you're thoughts on this season? How do you think next season will compare?

This is a sad day. It was a great season and next season will be 100 percent better then this one.
I was just about to make a topic like this too.

Well im going to Six Flags Great America for my last day of the season tommorrow, overall I think this season was great, but it won't feel complete without riding Deja Vu which I hope opens tommorrow since they are talking weather above 50, but even if I don't get to ride it I still think this has been my greatest coaster years ever.  I can't wait til next year!  I might not even be able to wait til next year I might have to take a trip to California soon.

This year kicked ass.  The only bad thing was all the accidents :(

Yea, no kidding, not a great year accident wise. :(Hopefully things will be better next year in terms of that.

Last day? My park closed 59 days ago;). I MISS TIMBERS ahhhh! Anyway, I was fortunate enough to get to CP and SFGAm in the last few weeks, which was nice. Happy hibernating to our parks, and here's to making the best of the offseason!

Now comes the best part of the off season. ANNOUNCEMENTS! I can't wait for parks to make their media announcements about their new attractions. :)

Yeah, it's a bummer.  I'm spending the last day of the season at SFMW tomorrow with some friends.  Should be fun, but a little depressing.  :(  Oh well, at least I've got the Giant Dipper at SCBB to keep my occupied for the next few months, and then there's always another trip to Florida that's coming up in January too.  Then the Winter Coaster Solace in March, and my parks open again for the new season.  I shouldn't be hurting too badly for coasters this year.  ;)

As for this year's coaster season, it was awesome.  Especially for me.  I got married on Medusa at SFMW in March, took my first ride on Ghostrider in May, went to IOA for the first and definately not the last time in September, went to PPP and to some other great parks back east at the beginning of the month, and met some great people this year along the way.  Not to mention all my visits to SFMW, PGA, SCBB and the Southern California parks this year.  For coasters, the parks really gave us some good new ones, Nitro, V2, Talon, Batwing, etc.  The accidents really took center stage this year with all the media coverage, and all of them were unfortunate to say the least.  Still, it was a great year, and I'm looking forward to the announcements and to yet another great season of coasters.  :)

Coasterman J, say goodbye to Medusa for me and tell her I'm sorry I didn't get on her this season. :( ;)

Same here, that was a pretty long wait, but it was all very worth it, got a ride in row 1B on Deja Vu, two Bull rides, 1 IW, 1 B:TR, 2 Shockwave rides, 1 Demon, 1 Viper, and 2 Giant Drop rides. No American Eagle or Whizzer though. :( The thought of the whole offseason looming ahead is very depressing, and so is that annoying music from the Fright Fest show (across Farmers Market) that is stuck in my head.

Ha LoL RagingBullGuy I got that music stuck in my head too.  How long did you wait for Deja Vu I waited exactly 2 hours.

Same here, 2 hours, give or take. The song i got stuck in my head is the Halloween one where the lyrics consist of "Halloween" and "Nanananananana" At least that's all i remember.:)

Off season? What off season? :) Oh how I love CA...

What would life be like without coasters?
A big ball of poo!
Wow, I went the Saturday before closing and I waited 3 hours for Deja Vu. But I think it was worth it, the drops from the towers were amazing. Unlike anything I have ever ridden. The line streteched all the way to "Monster's Market" but I didn't care. I guess I can say Deja Vu completed my season too.

I could never get sick of the theme music to halloween. It made fright fest even more erie :)

I'm starting to go through withdrawal!! My park (SFGAdv) closed Sunday and my very last ride of the night/season was on Nitro. My eyes filled up exiting down the ramp when it was over - I was REALLY sad. I can't take it, I tell ya!! Nobody understands except you guys.

PKI closes next sunday, and Im hoping to go saturday since I have already not ridden a coaster since August. Dont worry sgonda, im right with you. My last ride is gonna be SOB at night front row. No doubt. But luckily, Im probabily gonna be a ride op at Coney Island Cincinnati next season

It is very sad that the season is over, but at least you have next season to look foward to for new rides and stuff.
