Lasourdsville Lake

a few who want to come June 1st

Count me in that crowd. I was looking to see where I could "pop in" on the way from SRM back home to the People's Republic of Ann Arbor, and Lesourdsville tops the list. I'll have a Six Flags pass, but I'm not sure it's worth stopping at SFKK. I'm also not sure it's worth paying full freight for a few hours at PKI, despite the wealth of great coasters that I haven't made it to yet.

Brian,

I don't know how much time you'll have after SRM, but if you're going from there to LeSourdsville, SFKK is almost right in the way....While I'm one who is not praising SFKK overall, it does have a few nice coasters just to hit, and can easily be done in half a day (and the parking is cheap). I would say hit that place early in the day then go over to LeSordsville Lakefor the rest. Even though LeSourdsville Lake is nothing like SFKK...it's just this great little park with some great rides and old fashion atmosphere...Just my two cents and I hope you enjoy the trip!

Enjoying the Married Life Now!

I thought about stopping off at both, as for me they are both within a few miles of the interstates I'm going to be driving, as is PKI. But, it's a 7 hour drive home, after two nights of insane-mode ERT, and making it back before the kids' bedtime will prevent me from burning more spouse points than is absolutely necessary. Now that you are "enjoying the married life," you probably understand!

Here is my final answer till I hear otherwise.

Dear friends: I have tried everything I can think of including stopping at the park to get information about the 2003 season at Lesourdsville lake.

I stopped at the park today, (NO ACTIVITY AT ALL and you cannot enter the offices)

I tried calling last week, (PHONES ARE DISCONNECTED)
I called Couch's Campers last week, (WE CAN GIVE YOU NO INFORMATION AT THIS TIME and the park has no Phone number as of yet)

I emailed a private adress that a friend had been in contact with someone about employment at the park, This was active a month ago. (NO REPLY)

While I am not saying the park is definetly closed for 2003. I surely have come to that conclusion. My guess is it would take longer to hire a maintence team ect than the three months given to the proposed new park management. It would also be hard to get a good marketing scheme going. (Pugh brought his own maintence team)

The Pirat swinging ship is still at the park and the Eagle looks better than ever but there is no activity. Last year they were putting cars on rides at this time and still opened late.

For those planning SRM weekend, while I cannot tell you what to do, To me it looks unlikely for LL. Just at this time I noticed that americanaamusementpark.com messageboard is unreachable and no real news has been given in almost two months now. Scott Fowler said he was going to the park for a tour and info but nothing has been said since.

Dissclaimer, This is only my personal view for LL for 2003 and could be entirely wrong. There is no factual information to the opening or closing of Lesourdsville for 2003 other than the observations I have made.

Chuck, while it *does* look bleak right now, we really DO appreciate the great lengths and enormous efforts you have put in....and if/when the park is re-opened, I'd be interested in helping with some marketing projects...it's not like this business degree is gettnig any younger...and I work REALLY cheap - just ask the State of FL...;). For a small struglling park, I'd be more than happy to volunteer my time...

Would you just LOOK at what you've done to CoasterBuzz - you're going to have to clean it up ;)

I went by there on saturday myself and The place looks the same as it did when I drove by months before.

Waiting for the season to start.
Visit History of PKI!

This may be a little off topic but its about LL so i thought I would post it. My unlce and I drive by LL everytime we go to PKI(which now is like 100 times or around there), and I always try to convince him and my grandpa to stop by but theyre always like "Thats just a little carnival" I always try to convince them because I have heard how good Sreamin Eagle is, so if you guys could leave some major reasons we should stop by in order to convince them that would be great. Thanks.

i had no idea where Lesourdville Lake was until last weekend. I was lost trying to find the tri-county mall and ended up at Lesourdville.
