I went friday and There was a good crowd of people. A lot more than the last time I visited on a regular operating day in 98,
I am kinda surprised the Eagle soared so well as yesterday there was about a 1/16 in of rust on the rails with like only one mark as if it had been run once and parked.
Chuck, who had a ball friday night but they told us Eagle would open next week

Guests were actually complaining that with $1 parking, $1 admission and $1 for each type of food, you still had to pay $1 to ride each ride.I wonder where they got their info at....
That kind of reminds me of something Rideman said in a TR a few years back: "If parks were passing out gold bars at the park exit, guests would complain their bar wasn't big enough"
Anyway, I think what we are seeing is a generation that is not used to the pay-per-ride concept. Perhaps the only place they have seen pay-per ride is at a carnival, to them amusement parks are always "Pay-One-Price", though they probably just assume the rides are included in admission. Never mind that unless they are ride fanatics they probably spent far less than they would have at PKI or CP or "insert major park name here". As an aside the park will offer POP and PPR options, but they haven't started selling wristbands yet, which is probably a wise move considering that the park isn't completely restored, and some rides (including majors) are sometimes closed. It protects them from the "I spent $15 and nothing I want to ride is OPEN" complaints. At least the ride coupons were (as of Friday) redeemable for $1 in trade at the snack bars and game booths.
Not that I'm a fan of pay-per-ride, as I spent a rather large amount on ride tickets Friday night, almost enough to buy TWO of their ride wristbands once they start selling wristbands. (And since you could buy food/drinks and play games on tickets, not all those tickets went to rides)
To now answer John's question, the newspaper headlines I- One newspaper had "$1 is all it takes to see LeSourdsville Lake this weekend", of course the article explained a few parpagraphs down that rides were $1 but folks don't read that far.
