Las Vegas (Speed: The Ride)

Well folks, I have to say, Vegas (or should I say the Sahara) has a real winner here with Speed: The Ride. It is my new favorite Vegas coaster.
It was 100 degrees exactly as I climbed in the front of the new LIM coaster in the new Nascar Cafe section of the Sahara. 45 seconds later I was in the same place clapping and cheering!! This ride is well named, it is speedy. 2 sets of LIM's make for a double the fun.
From what I remember, the first set of LIM's takes you up to 35mph, but it sure feels alot faster than that. Next an overbanked left turn followed by a dive down underground directly into a vertical loop. After the loop comes the second set of LIM's which takes you up to 70mph. A gradual left turn around the carport (really cloce, I thought I would scrape my knuckles on it)then straight up the tower and do it again backwards.
On the backwards trip there is a set of trim brakes right before the loop, it REALLY felt like the train barely made it over.
The cost was $6.00 per person per ride, not too bad. There is also for $19.95 unlimited rides for 1 day. Another member had mentioned that there might be a free ride for hotel guestes, but I don't know for sure.
Now for the best part, there is absolutely no head banging at all!! I expected to have a headache due to the horse collar restraints which are padded heavily (ala OL:FOF) This is not the case.
Plan a trip to Vegas and get on this ride, people. I thought it was great!!

For all of you 21 & over gamblers, Sahara has $1 Blackjack tables open 24 hrs!! Guess where I will be staying on MY next trip to sin city??
