Las Vegas! 7/21

here we go!

1-10 scale

manhattan express-5- major letdown bumpy togo, good first drop and 2nd drop , inline to a half loop was fun though

canyon blaster-6- bumpy arrow, short, very good theming(the whole ride is indoors)2 loops 2 corksrews, and a great upward helix

speed the ride-9-great launch coaster, extremely smooth, good speed, loop and a vertical tower at the end, one of the better rides on the strip

desperado-8-bumpy,good first drops though, the layout lacks creativity, and then becomes dull

big shot-10-best ride, indulge in air time, best view of the whole strip!

vegas was worth the time and the my track record

What? No High Roller on the Strat? I know it's pretty lame but the setting adds to the ride.

I have yet to convince myself to ride the Big Shot, although the hubby and my son loved it. Being that high just freaks me out.

Haven't been back to Vegas since they opened Speed. Can't wait to try it out!

Did you do any of the SIMS? Star Trek: The Experience, the one at the Luxor, and the SIM at Circus Circus were well worth the money IMO.

Speed sounds awesome.

Glad you liked Speed, it is soooo great! Yeah, the Sim at Adventuredome is very neat.

I actually regreted not going on high roller,it did'nt look that great, but then I realized I could of included it in my coaster count
I negelected to do any sims, I wasted all my time and money going on all the rides all over the strip.I was only in vegas for 2 nights.

here are some prices

manhattan-$10 1 ride- they might have a all day pass, I'm not sure

speed-$8- 2 rides in a row-good deal- they have a all day pass but im not sure how much

canyon blaster-$5-1 ride-$15-unlimited, but you can ride every other ride in the adventuredome for free

Big shot/high roller-$12-ride up tower/one ride on big shot

$12-ride up/one ride on high roller

$15-ride up/ride on both rides

$3 ride on one of the rides again while youre still on top of the tower(you can do this as much as you like)

I was just in LV with a buddy and we rode Speed: The Ride on Monday (7-22). We bought an all-day combo pass (includes Cyber Speedways) for $14.95 (with $5.00 off coupon). The all-day ride pass for Speed is $14.95. We got in 14 rides on Speed, including eight in the front row. We liked the front much better than the back, especially for the visuals. I would give it a 9/10 but it sure doesn't beat Xcelerator for the intensity of the launch. The simulators (Indy and Nascar) are a lot of fun too - very realistic.

heres my take on the vegas coasters...since i was there two weeks ago

speed- since i stayed at the sahara, i had MANY rides on this thing (i'd guess around 30, which is 60 laps)...the front, scary beyond beleif going up that tower, but the front is very vibratic, and your brain tends to get shaken around a lot, making re-rides very hard...but i took it like a man ;) my suggestion, if you want to have a EXTREMELY smooth ride on speed, ride in the back!

canyon blaster- i dont remember this ride being THAT bad last time, but it has aged i suppose...like dude said above, it is rather bumpy, but its still very fun, especially in the back :)

mahattan express- fun...but its very painful at times, especially since the ride ops STAPLE the hell out of you, i couldnt even take a full breath with that shoulder thing on. the first drop, very good...2nd..better...3rd hill, it starts to show its true colors...then the third drop into the loop is when the hell starts, that drop is just very very badly done, theres a huge slam at the bottom then the loop is pretty bumpy...then you get thrown upside down into the twist and dive and all your weight is making that shoulder restraint dig into your shoulders and it hurts very bad...then some bumpy turns, a smooth helix, and more bumpy hills, then you hit the brakes...thats all

desperado-i COULD NOT enjoy this ride if i was paid, i swear to god if feels like your riding on square wheels on track that is made of shaped rock...the first drop was great i'll give it that, but after that it was just unenjoyable, it really needs some new trains with a better shocks and such...

kool, i just got back from my Vegas/SoCal Trip and intend to write a trip report on it. i'm pretty tired and worn out right now though.

Totally agree with you on Big Shot, for those of you who haven't ridden it, but are planning to, make sure you ride it at night, it is 100 times better of an experience.
