What non-disney theme park resort has the most amount of acres to expand on? When I say resort, I dont mean it has to have more than 1 park or a hotel. I used the word so all parks would be included.
I left out Disney parks because we already know that Disney owns half the world. :)

I'm not the expert on this, but I believe that PKI has 700 acres. I say this because I had read an article once about how the original owners of the park consulted with Walt Disney himself about how much land would be needed. And if memory serves me correctly they've only developed about 400 acres.
If anyone has anymore info I'd love to know the exact facts on this as well.
If PKI has exactly 700 or so, SFWoA would have more with almost 750. I think SFGAdv. has a lot too if you add the animal park in. And Universal Orlando. But those 2 parks aren't very big. I really don't know.

SFGADv has about 2000 acres.
How many thousands of acres does MarineLand have up in Niagara Falls?

I think that some might have misunderstood my question. Just to clears things up, let me restate the question.
What park has the most acres to expand on. Meaning unused land that the could use if they wanted to. For example, I belive that Six Flags California has another 400 acres (out of ~650) to expand on.

I would have to say that Six Flags Darien Lake has probably about the most acres to expand upon. Only a mere 150acres are used for the park itself. The total acres that they own are roughly 950!! This means that it'd more than double the size of Cedar Point if they truly wanted.
The only catch is that over half of the acres are used for the SFDL campground and on-site hotel. But there are still hundreds of undeveloped acres sitting out there, which makes it the 2nd largest Six Flags park in the world.
As for Marineland, Canada... I also wish I knew. I know they have a lot more land than you think! They also have a campground adjacent to their park, but I do not know the total acres that Marineland owns
Anybody know how many acres SFMM actually has? To me it always seems like they have everything crammed in pretty tight.

ATTENTION!!...This is the Alter Ego of Goliath Rocks; If he said something stupid, we're sorry, it's the "G"s talking...
Whoops... I forgot about Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (formally Six Flags Ohio).
Since their acquisition of Sea World Ohio... they have an additional amount of space. I am not sure what that brings their total up to...
But I do know that Six Flags Magic Mountain is #1, & #2 is either SFWoA, or SFDL (acre wise, not park size).

Magic Mountain (the park) covers 100 acres. The entire Six Flags California complex is between 200-250 acres. An aditional 400 acres was bought not to long ago. That gives the complex some 600-650 acres. Now, about everything being crammed in preaty tight; it is not. For the most part, the rides are spread out. Goliath does go over Colossus at one point but it is not too packed. The entry for all the coasters (including Goliath and Colossus) are quite far apart. I hope that answers your question. :)

Does anyone know how much land PKI uses now, and how much land they have left to expand?
I know there is a lot of open land around PKI. I just don't know how much of that is PKI's, or someone elses.
Like one of the posts stated above about 700 acres at PKI. I thought I read something like that once, but I am not exactly sure though.
For the record, PKI owns a total of 1600 acres.
Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure now consists of 750 acres fyi. 500 from Geagua Lake/SFO and 250 from SWO. How much do they have undeveloped? I am not exactly sure but I think that they have used most of their land however now that SWO/SFO admin buildings can be consolidated that could free up some land...

Thanks for the information Everdred. I thought PKI had some extra room to expand their park if they wanted too.
With 1600 acres @ PKI would they have room for a 350 foot out & back B&M hyper if they ever would want one or doesn't the vacant land stretched far enough for an out & back? ButI would say the largest park in land area is SFGAD than PKI!

PINK FLOYD FANATIC
Yes Pink Floyd Fanatic, I think PKI would have plenty of room for a huge steel coaster. However, I do not think they will ever build a large steel coaster 300 feet tall. (Due to cost)
Remember the Beast at PKI is spread over 35 acres, and that is a large area for a coaster to cover. So if they are only using 700 acres of 1600, then they have plenty of room for a huge steel hyper.
I just found an article in the Enquirer from last year. PKI has 712 acres, and less than 400 acres have been developed. That leaves well over 300 acres on which to build.
Just wanted to get my facts straight.
Jacob
I really doubt that article was accurate. They started the park with 1600, and I don't ever recall them selling any, nor do I see any intelligible reason to.
Remember that much of PKI's acreage is unusable, or would be difficult to use for much, because the land between Rivertown and the Racer and the river, while it is all Kings Island, is also really really rugged ground.
Also, the original PKI land purchase probably also includes land along Kings Island Rd. where the hotel and movie theater are. I'm not sure that they own any of that ground anymore.
