Land preparation is well underway for Xcelerator

Knott's Berry Farm is ramping up construction with the preparation of land for Xcelerator. More footer holes have been dug to compliment the large footer poured last week.

Ride looks tiny. Tiny but should be intense...I mean, imagine the ride trying to burn off 82 MPH in that amount of track...especially with no trims...

Imagine this....launch to 82...then a trim!!! ;)

I need to ask this, how close are you during those pics, it looks as if you're right on the site... Couple more steps and you'd be swallowed by the MASSIVE HOLE.

As always this site amazes me with it's pics.. has to be the best pics I've seen as of yet... GOOD WORK! :)

Yes, very good pics! Can't wait to ride this thing when I go down to KBF in June!

I'm convinced that part of the launch system will be on that footer as well as the supports for the climb and descent.

One question that has been boggeling my mind lately, is what is going to happen to the old Knotts Parachute drop structure? Are they going to cut the sweeps off, or just leave them there, because IMO, it looks tacky
Those are my current thoughts as well Jeff, but it looks to me like that footer will be only for the climb. I'm truly amazed at how Knott's is fitting the coaster in such a small space.

I don't know anything about the old Parachute structure but I agree that it looks bad now.

To my knowledge, the Parachute Jump supports are going to come down during Xcelerator's construction since they'll have the cranes large enough to do that on site.
