Lake Winnie 2007

After doing a lot of searching and visiting the website to Lake Winnie, I've come to the conclusion that it's very difficult to get readily available information about this park. The hours and dates of operation seem rather inconsistent and confusing. I haven't been able to find a TR from this park this year, but was wondering if there were any locals or anyone who would be able to help me. I'm specifically looking for the opening time/price on this Friday morning. Any other information that could be shared would be very helpful. I don't usually make posts like this, but there is really only one page that will load on their website and I'm struggling to find literature on the park. Thanks guys!

Well some friends of mine recently visited it, so I know it is at least open. I had similar trouble with their website last year. It seems they haven't updated it since. No phone number listed.

Weird. The Lake Winnie site works fine for me.

According to their Calendar, they're open this Friday (the 18th) from 10am to 10pm.

The Pricing page says:

-Gate Admission is $5.00
-Unlimited Ride Pass is $20.00
-Individual Ride Tickets are $.95 each(rides range from 2 to 5 tickets each)
-Value Strip of 14 Tickets is $12.00
-Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone andmust purchase an all day ride pass or a value strip of 14 tickets.
-Guests 18 and over may choose a $5.00 Gate Admission only.

Hope that helps. :)

Wow. Must be a conflict in the code with my browser (Safari). I only get the *group specials* link to work.

Thanks so much. Ironically, viewing it in Internet Explorer does get that page up for me. Interesting. Thanks, you rock!

Zak, you will LOVE Lake Winnie. I have a free gate admission coupon if ya want it. Just send me a PM and it's yours! I am not using it.

Has anyone out there ridden that Fly-O-Plane? This is the rarest of the Eyerly O-Plane rides and might be the only one still operating.

^Pretty sure someone posted that the Fly-O-Plane was gone as of last year. Not sure if it was being rehabbed or removed.

Nonetheless, Boat Chute + really old PTC carousel + Cannonball = :)

More parks could use those admission policies... ;)

Yeah, the Fly-O-Plane was not around when Nicole and I visited last year in April.

^Oh, hi "someone". LOL! See ya tomorrow morning, I'll be the geeky one about a half-mile from Chang... ;)

But you DID love Lake Winnie, no? "Throwback park"... :)

Lake Winnie was very cool.

I visited on opening day, and the Fly-O-Plane has been moved to the far side of the Cannonball, near the bumper cars and the Orbiter. It is up and running!

Thanks, that is GREAT news. I only rode it once on the previous trip, got stuck in the sideways position and couldn't get the Plane to "roll". Maybe I get another shot during the Mystery Mine excursion... ;)

The Rock-O-Plane will always hold a special place for me, but getting the Fly-O "completed the set". This time I'll watch more BEFORE riding so I can figure out that contraption a little better... ;)

The Fly_O_Plane is a Treat! That paticular ride was purchased from Whalom Park. It made its return this year.

Winnie buys a lot of used rides, notably, the Carpet was Hersheypark's, the Ferris Wheel and Wave Swinger were both Miracle Strips.

Doh! They have a magic carpet? Where?!?!

IIRC, the Conestoga was next to the mouse, Matt.

john peck - was this Oh Zone also the one from MSAP? They (MSAP, I mean) bought it the year before they closed, maybe...I recall it was VERY new when the park shut down...

Ohh, right. I remember that. I was thinking of the Magic Carpet ride Kennywood used to have where your're seated facing inward like on a pirate ship. :) I'm turning into a flatride junkie like Gator.

That Fly-O-Plane was a dreadful experience, but still managed to be enjoyable. Nothing says fun like rolling around inside a tight metal cage!
