Lake Compounce sees boost in attendance

Despite an uncommonly rainy summer with just a scattering of hot and sunny days, Lake Compounce Theme Park drew more than 595,000 customers last year - a record for its owners, Kennywood Entertainment. The company expects continued growth for the park over the next few years.

That was a really well written and informative article. I had no idea that Kennywood had gotten help from the state to the tune of $18 million dollars with a payback expected by 2017 (when I'll be eeking towards my 50's). I liked the park quite a bit, but felt it was also overpriced for what it offered. Having said that, I'm encouraged by the comments about investing back into the park with new attractions.

Part of the "overpriced" sentiment may come from the state that it's in. You're gonna pay more for just about everything in CT, and from the sounds of the article attendance certainly isn't suffering because of it.
