Yeah but I was saying you're not going to get a B&M Inverted at Kennywood and an Intamin hyper at Compounce in the same year - or at least its very unlikely
Nor do we care if we get a Intiman hyper at the lake. I'm fine with Boulder and if I wanted would drive to S:ROS, the best Intiman mega coaster, which is only 45 minutes away.
freakylick, I agree with your ideas, but when these guys start talking about how we need an Intiman hyper over shadowing the lake I slap myself. They just don't realize that would literally over shadow the entire park except for Boulder Dash and the log flume which are on the mountain and hidden by trees.

I think a new coaster at Compounce would do the park well and I also think we will be getting a new coaster possibly next year due to no new attractions opening this year.
I'm not buying this argument that it would "shadow" the park or ruin the family atmosphere. True, a hyper will be larger than most other structures at the park. Who cares, they're supposed to be. I'd really love to see it come down the mountain personally. Utilizing the mountain, a new coaster would have the ability to break a few records.
I also say bah to the argument of a coaster being too noisy. As an example, Superman is not that noisy. Hulk is noisy, but in a relaxing sort of way. Roller Coaster noise is part of the atmosphere of a complete amusement park.
If they have to then up parking a couple dollars, up ticket prices a little. I would be worth it to me. It would beat standing in line for Superman for two hours because The Lake would probably try to handle capacity better.
But I digress. My opinions don't count.

It's the corporate park mentality speaking when I hear people say that The Lake "needs" a (insert megacoaster manufacturer here). The uniqueness of Lake Compounce's atmosphere and varied attractions is what makes it....well, unique. I'm sure that they could find a way to incorporate some more first class attractions without ruining their great atmosphere just as Dollywood and Silver Dollar City has done. Lake Compounce has already shown us that they can make use of their unique setting with Boulder Dash and their other attractions that utilize the lake and mountain surroundings to their advantage.
I think a wild mouse coaster would be a good investment for the park, but I am curious to see what they come up with. They just might surprise me with something more interesting. However, it would be nice to get something new next year.
Don't be sarcastic with me. I stated my opinion. Lake Compounce is afforded the luxury of having this mountain at their disposal and they should utilize it more appropriately than they did with Boulder Dash.
I didn't say make a 684 foot drop, although they do have about 750 ft.
I feel, if done right, that The Lake could challenge SFNE regarding popularity and sales. It's located conveniently off I-84, has a hotel almost on-site, and the park offers a hospitable staff.
