Lake Compounce and Quassy help

I'm going to Lake Compounce and Quassy on Friday. For Lake Compounce should I go to Boulder Dash Wildcat then Zoomerang. Any tips or anything would help. Also would I be allowed to ride the Kiddie Coaster. And anything I should know about Quassy?

At Lake Compounce it doesn't really matter which order you go. I'd say go to Wildcat, because that usually has longer lines because it's a smaller coaster and everyone thinks Boulderdash is so big. Zoomerang never has a line, and Boulderdash should have tops 15 min. Wildcat can get to 30 mins.

Also, try to hit the river rapids ride, it's one of the best! Their dark ride is good also, but make sure you have a partner.

Quassy is kind of a permanent carnival for little kids. They have little rides and few of them. They have a kiddie coaster ( I dunno if you can get on this or the one at the Lake) and a Wild Mouse. That's about it.

Every time I've been to Compounce Ghost Hunt has has the longest line throughout the day. I'd say its probably a good idea to hit the dark ride first [that's what I always do]. After that you should have no problem with lines and you shouldn't need any additional "plan of attack."

Quassy requires two riders for the Mouse, so be forewarned. Depending on the day you visit Compounce and the crowds its entirely possible to take a mid-day break from LC, drive over to Quassy, hit the mouse and a few flats, and return to the lake to finish your evening.

Glad to hear that. We're going up that way in 2 weeks for a big park trip and this was my plan for one of the days. The others I am going with questioned this plan of attack and I started wondering myself if it's possible. Looks like it just might be.

What I like best about Lake Compounce is that it does not call for "a plan of attack." It is usually uncrowded even on weekends, and I feel like I can enjoy myself at a leisurely pace and take in any attractions as I desire. Only Ghost Hunt has a slow wait, but even on a Saturday I waited 15-20 minutes.

Take time to enjoy all the "little things" and don't be in a rush to get from one coaster to another. You can "do the Lake" in a short time if you want, but there is much more to enjoying the day there. Aside from Bolder Dash and Wildcat, other not to miss attractions are the sky ride on Compounce mountain, the raft ride, and the beautiful antique Carousel. I also enjoyed Ghost Hunt, the antique trolley, and the log flume, most of which is hidden from view from the midway. The water park, Splash Harbor, looked like a lot of fun as well. I also enjoyed the Chinese Acrobats.

You will be happy to find that food selection is better than at most parks and prices are reasonable. We ate lunch at the Croc Pot Cafeteria which is nicely decorated with old pictures of the park. The 50's diner near the log flume is also nice for food or ice cream as it has a cool decor with fun music.

I found the employees to be especially helpful, and supervisors were abundant throughout the day ensuring that guests were having a pleasant experience.

I hope this information helps you, and I sincerely hope you enjoy and appreciate your visit to the Lake. It has become one of my new favorite parks.

It's important to go to Quassy on Fridays after 5:00 pm. Why? Because all rides, drinks, hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream, and corn dogs are only 25 cents each and parking is free.

At Lake Compounce there is really never trouble with lines. Longest line in the park during the summer is no doubt Mammoth Falls, but if you're not planning to go to the Splash Harbor(which is free with admission and located right inside the, park not seperate) then don't worry about it.

(1)Head over to Zoomerang's area is first

•Here you can ride the the better of the park's flat rides.(**If a flat ride is not open yet, just ask on of the other ride operators in the area like Rebino.....I mean Raylon or Derick at the Swining Ship. They'll be glad to start another ride up for you if their not busy**)

•Also if you're lucky, you may be able to ride Zoomeang multiple times without exiting in the morning when they're warming it up(but you must be one of the first people there.)

•Ghosthunt is good to head to early, as it is the longest line outside of Splash Harbor, it also is a good way to cool off when it gets hot.

(2)Time to move on to the back end of the park

•By now Boulder Dash should have warmed up after some laps, but I do suggest going on the log flume first for one good reason. If you wait to far into the morning the skunks will come out. They love to hide out up in the trees on that hill that the log flume winds around.

•Now go take as many laps on Boulder as your heart desire. With one of the best operating crews of any coaster and light crowds, you wont have that long of a wait on Boulder Dash.(**Note when buying on ride photo, the cool picture frame that has all of The Lake's coasters on it can be purchased in the coaster shop, located right next to Wildcat's entrance.**)

(3)Hungry, aren't you buddy?

•The 50's Diner over by the log flume and Top Spin is your best choice. They have good burgers, real shakes, rootbeer floats(not the Mickey Mouse ones that you make at home), and the best part some very nice ladies ;) )

(4)Time to head to the far side of the park

•Take the cable car down to the far side of the lake. Here you'll find Thunder Rapids and the Skyride.

•The Skyride is about a 20-30 mintue ride that takes you over the mountain. So save time for it.

•By the way don't forget to stop at the ballroom and Potato Patch before you leave.

.............................NO!!! I didn't forget Wildcat, it's not something that you'll forget, but not something you need to remember. It an ok woodie, guess. There never really a line for it.

Can anyone give this guy some more info on Quassy?

Anyone know if I can ride the Kiddie Coaster at Lake Compounce and the one at Quassy for the count?

Sean

When we went to LC in 2000 we were not allowed to ride the kiddie coaster. Maybe if you borrow a small kid they will let you on.

Quassy is a small park. You should be able to ride everything there in about an hour. We spent at least an hour playing games that give out ticket to win a Quassy shotglass since they didn't have any real gift shop. At Quassy you should be able to get on both coasters we did.

Are you going to SFNE as well? It's only about an hour north of LC ?
