Associated parks:
Lake Compounce, Bristol, Connecticut, USA
A very dear friend of mine had been fascinated about my love of rides, coasters, parks, etc. He was always concerned with heights and spining and he vowed that he would never do the "park thing." Flash foward a few years and with three grade school aged kids in the family he now goes to parks, sort of regularly and still considers himself a non-rider who is amazed by what the industry has to offer.
I usually send him a copy of my long-winded trip reports and he claims to enjoy them. (Obviously, he is in the minority!) When he told me that he went to Lake Counpounce and described his experience to me, I asked if I could post what he wrote to me if I take away his name and the names of his children.
What follows is his first trip report...

…Speaking of amusement parks, yesterday we went to Lake Compounce and my first surprise was.....I couldn't see the rides when we were approaching it. Even in the parking lot I could only make out one ride. But the place was very pretty, obviously well taken care of, and clean. The kids LOVED it. The biggest downer was the food; the hamburgers were terrible, the ice cream too icy, and the fries were just OK. The all-day free soda was a nice plus. Hey, I sound like a Richie Reflux Trip Report!
Naturally I didn't go on any rides but the kids, and (wife) sure did. "L" was in love with the bumper cars and went on the 4 times. One time there was a traffic jam and they had to send for a tech to unclog the mess. The tech was an idiot and took forever to do what had to be done.
I loved how the roller coaster disappeared into the woods. I loved it from afar of course.
Anyway, that was our trip to Lake Compounce. A really nice place.

Boulder Dash is good during the day, great at night, and out of this world (my #3) in front at night.

What a terrible place. They haven't built anything in years!!!
They have added a Mega disco, Zoomers gas n' go car ride, lake boat ride, 2 kiddie rides, Removed/replaced 3 body slides, and a Kracken racer complex.
The back stage investments has caused for a slow addition list. Ghost hunt was updated with higher capacity cars and a new room, The park invested Millions to relocate a road so that they can expand the water park.and they are gettign a wave poll next year.
Richie - I liked your friends report. reminds me of asking my mom about her park trips.
