Lake Compounce - CoasterBuzz

Bear with me guys and try to understand what I am asking. This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you pronounce the word "COMPOUNE" in Lake Compounce?

Is it "Come"as in Community, or "Com" as in Comedy Please reply...

I think it is "com" like in comedy. I could be wrong though, but I'm sure it is.
