Lack of ERT at this year's Kennykon: I am angry!

I have to pass this along to all of you here. It seems that a certain enthusiast from here in Ohio may be the reason that there was a lack of ERT at this year's Kennywood event. I have a letter from him talking about how he contacted someone who was part of setting up the event and told that person how badly behaved enthuisiasts were at the 2001 event. He said in his letter "It sure is funny that I rat people out and then there is a major lack of ERT the next time the park has an event".

Now, I have known him for a few yers and I am very upset at him if he caused Kennywood not to have an evening ERT. He goes on to say in his letter that he has "taped recordings of enthusiasts saying they have done various things against park rules and emails where enthusiasts have talked about this" and that he has "been in contact with a few parks over this".

My question is this: Since Kennywood didn't have an evening ERT this year and since this individual did contact someone associated with the event and told them things, could this have been the real reason Kennywood didn't have as much ride time? I know Kennywood annoucned why they weren't having ride time that evening, but I still think it goes deeper than that.

I am not trying to stir up trouble, I just want to know if anyone can tell me what really happened.

The reason there was no evening ERT this year is because the park had already scheduled a special event for the park staff that night. The regional ACE reps scheduled the event for that weekend so that it was the same weekend as the Leap The Dips 100th anniversary event - that way people traveling could get both events in one trip. Kennywood has had a long relationship with ACE, I'm pretty sure they know what an enthusiast event is like without your friend's letter.

Just my opinion, but the park has no obligation to offer anyone any ERT for an event. Careful, that sounds an awful lot like snotty, elitist enthusiast talk.

GForce was on the money: there was a park employee function going on that night that was already scheduled, therefore no one to run the rides.

Trust me, we already know how "you people" act. No letter's gonna tell us anything we don't already know.

I'd expect the ERT to return next year barring any more scheduling conflicts.

Darren should put a little more energy into getting a life and someone to share it with...besides people at events who dislike him and the ex-girlfriend who doesn't want him either.

Can't imagine why she doesn't want him...(ouch)....seriously, I try to always be polite, etc., but he went mouthing off on my "other" site recently and I spoke up when I probably should have maintained my "hippie crap peace and love" attitude.....

I agree about Darren Mullins, all he does is start trouble for the parks and the enthusiats. It is like he has no life. I don't blame his ex for not wanting to date him at all. He has been going on about Phantom Theater and there is nothing he can do about its closing, I am sick of reading about this on other websites.

Yep, he causes tons of trouble on PKIU(which is down :() and he calls me a jerk and such, always complaining about PT closing, getting rid of rides to put in better rides, it's very annoying.

Sorry folks, but I am not Darren. I have been waiting until I talked to him again before I said anything. He is still my friend, although I do not agree with him making reports to the parks. I must say that Darren has read this discussion and he says that certain posts in this thread are designed to do nothing more than to defame him. Teenage Ninja's assertion that Darren causes "tons of trouble" on PKI Unlimited is unfounded. Darren told me last night that he has never been banned from that forum. Darren has posted there for about six months and has never recieved a complaint from the webmaster of that forum.

Rolling Thunder's statement about Darren causing trouble for parks is defaming. Parks do keep a record of who has caused trouble. PKI is one of these parks. Darren claims to have been there 80 times and no complaints have been filed against him at PKI or any other park.

These are things that can be proven. Darren can prove that he hasn't been in trouble at the parks and Darren can prove that he hasn't been in trouble on PKI Unlimited.

This whole thread should have been closed when the nasty comments came in. It is my understanding that the webmaster of this site could be held responsible for giving the people who made the offensive comments permission to post here. I believe everyone has to be signed up for this forum right? The webmaster should have taken the offensive posts off of here without delay.

Bringing Darren's ex into the discussion is uncalled for. One of the posters that did this was Coastaplaya. Coastaplaya talked about the theory of nobody which mentioned that a person has to have validity. Darren talked to me a great deal about this. Darren plays music and has many fans. He made a CD and sold a lot of copies of the CD and songs from this CD are played on the radio in the area where he lives. Darren said to me last night that Coastaplaya mouthed off about something he knew nothing about. Darren's comment about Coastaplaya was kind of mean but was, in some ways, justified. Darren said Coastaplaya needed to get his black you-know-what back out to the cottonfield and uphold his heritage.

No, I do not agree with Darren for contacting parks, but I also do not agree with this becoming www.bashdarren.com because all that does is makes Coasterbuzz look bad. If Darren doesn't like someone on this site, I do not blame him because of the comments made in this thread. I told Darren who I was on here. He asked me not to discuss it anymore(about him reporting to parks), so I will not.

One last thing before I shut up. Darren has been emailing one of the posters in this thread from a fake email account. He started emailing this individual from a fake account to see if that person was who he thought it was. He did this after reading a post by her on Guide to the Point back in May. He knows who one of the posters that responded in this thread is and guess what! Darren still loves her very much. That should give you some clue as to who it is.

I just informed all of you in my last post that Darren plays music. As luck would have it, Darren was out singing at a pizza place last week when I made my original post. He has people who can vouch for him on this. He also informed me that there is no computer and no internet access where he was singing at. If he hates anyone on here, he has the right just becuase of the responses in this thread. We do not know for sure the exact cause of the lack or ERT at Kennywood(yes, I read what a couple of people posted), but since Darren did contact someone over the event, it seems funny that there was a lack of ERT there. I do not agree with Darren for this, but he did it and I have been trying to talk him out of doing this in the future.

Seriously, though, "bad-mouthing" people generally reflects more on the speaker than on the person being talked about....that being said, I know where I've put myself on this one....and I'm OK with that.....
