Labor Day at SFGrAm

Does past history prove this to be a more than average crowded kinda day?

I know I'm not supposed to ask this type of question, but I just recently moved back to the area and don't know for myself - yet :)

Thanks!

I have never been there on that day, but stories I have heard from friends is that it is a crapshoot.

Actually, at most parks, Labor Day tends to be a great day to visit the park. I have visited SFGAm at Labor Day several times and had a great day with short waits for almost anything. Their is a wrench in the works, however, for that this year.

The Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary is going on in Milwaukee. There are probably about an extra half million people up here in Milwaukee right now. Things will be wrapping up on Labor Day and they will be heading home. Many might see the park on the way out, or saw it on the way in and said "Gee that looks like lots of fun" and they will stop. I fully expect that the city of Gurnee will be overrun with bikers that day.

From having worked at Harley Fest events and seeing the people/talking to the people who attended the event few seemed to be the type of people who will take their hog and spend the day at SFGAm. Sunday night is the last day of the major events and with numerous street parties going on till 300am Monday morning i cant see that many making a detour to SFGAM.
I plan on going to SFGAM Labor Day so i guess we will see what takes place( i hope the park is slow!!) but i would be surprised to see the masses of Harley Fest(which is an older crowd) going to SFGAM.
