La Ronde announces SLC for 2010

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

The former Serial Thriller from defunct Six Flags Astroworld will find a new home in Montreal. The Vekoma SLC hasn't seen action since 2005.

Visit the official La Ronde site (English version).

Uniqueness? Darien Lakes Mind Eraser is built partially over water as well. Maybe something unique to Canada, but I am still wishing it had been refurbished and placed at Great Escape.

Real men ride wood... coasters that is!

The USA may as well invade and annex Canada. It'd make crossing the boarder less of pain in the butt.

That definitely ranks up there as one of the most non-funny things you've ever posted.

Now thats funny..

I can't imagine having any problem crossing a Canadian boarder -- unless he was some retired Mafia head from Brampton or something.

I've been as close as one subway station from La Ronde. Seriously, Montreal is a very nice city, its just that my touring schedule and the park's operating schedule just didn't cooperate with each other.

The park definitely looks like its worth a visit, but installing a SLC when you already have a B&M. That's just a head scratcher. I'm with the group that says "Why not send it to Great Escape?" They already have the boomerang, so it would fit great.

That's the funny thing (well, ironic). The ride SAT at the park it was most needed at...then got shipped to another park where it's replicative at best. What's next, we'll get a Morgan hyper and plop it next to Bizarro @ SFNE? ;)

Naw. They'll pack up X2 an ship it to SFNE. Even better, they'd revamp it and suspend it over the Connecticut River.

I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

This thread is chock full of terrible attempts at being funny.

I do wonder whether the decision to place the SLC there had something to do with Six Flags holding some kind of agreement with the city in which they are required to invest a certain amount annually or bi-annually, and the SLC was the best they could do without actually having to build a new ride.

Most threads are chock full of terrible attempts at being funny.

I stand corrected. :)
