LA or NYC?

Thanks Erice but the beast still is the best!

Actually, it's "May Gray" and "June Gloom"...stay away for both months. It lasted through July this year.

In August we get mugginess from Baja. I'd say October is the best month for weather.

For LA, I'd go to Knott's and DCA or Disneyland (especially if you have non-enthusiasts with you, they offer more than just a bunch of coasters). They are all close together too so you could stay in the area and hit them up in 2-3 days. Also, you could go to one of the other Disney parks while your friends hit up Hollywood or Olivera Street.

I'd still choose the Bay Area though. ;)

Why not SFMM? I'll answer after ya get rid of all those extra posts. ;)

Seriously though, I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Strickly coasters? SFMM I suppose. I can only stand to go once every couple years or so. For an overall good time, the Disney parks. For the best single coaster in the area, Knott's.

I used to like Magic Mountain a lot more when the Revolution wasn't so rough and didn't have OTSRs. That ride really hurt the last time I rode it...must be the Flashback leading a bad example. Also, keep in mind that I've been to Magic Mountain. I'd probably suggest that you go if you've never been there.

And Den, I know...but with all things being relative, anything under 60 is considered cold here! (not that we couldn't get cold up the mountains if we wanted to..) :)

Ooops, got me there. ;) The only ride that's just as short and more intense is a few hundred yards away.

The mountain has X which is amazing. It's just too bad you have to plan your day around it. You can't just saunter over and hop on.

Yeah, we all miss the days when we could all saunter everywhere.

You will have a good time regaurdless of where you go; however, if I had the chose, I would go to SoCal. Magic Mountain has an amazing coaster collection, and California has amazing girls and beaches.

I live in Brooklyn, NY and would have to go with everyone else in saying NYC. First off you have Six Flags New England and Great Adventure which are both great parks with an amazing collection of roller coasters and flat rides. Then you have Dorney Park and Hershey PArk not that far away. Then of course there's Coney Island home of Cyclone. Then you have the tourist attractions that are in my hometown, like the MTV's TRL, BET's 106&park, all the broadway shows, and much much more! I want to move to LA when I'm around 20, I'm 16 now, but now thinking about this makes me wonder if that's a good move.

Move to LA, why not. It's good to check out new places. However, I'd recommend the Bay Area.

Coming from New York to the Bay Area can be quite a shock (Well it was for me) Well the upside is people here are nice, its clean and kewl scenery, and the "subway" system (BART) is always on time. The down side is it is soooooo slow; it is not as racially diverse as NYC; The heavy fog that only covers SF; last but not least, the "theme" parks here are mediocre at best.(sans Bonfante Gardens)

Not as racially diverse? Probably not as many folks from Europe...but then again, I worked with a lot of Russians, Cambodians, Costa Ricans, Mexicans, Chinese, Vietnamese, Laotians, Indians, Burmese, Pakistanis, Iranians, Columbians, Thai, Japanese, French, on and on and on.

The boardwalk is a lot of fun (not a theme park). It does get foggy in parts of San Fransisco (check out Noe or Portrero Valley for sun). PGA is pretty weak (ever since they removed the Triple Wheel, Whizzer, and Train). I still think it's cooler than LA.

Now San Diego, I moved here 4 years ago and am absolutely in love with the place. Can't beat going to the beach on a sunny day in January!
